My wife and I share a 2008 Prius and we desperately need a second car. We can't afford another new car. Our dealership is selling a used 2001 white Prius with 73,000 miles. They are replacing the HYBRID high voltage battery (the expensive one) with a new one and cleaning up any cosmetic issues. The new battery has a year warranty. They want $8,000 plus tax, title & license. Almost $9,000 total. I know they'll make something on the sale, I just don't want to pay more than the car is actually worth. Is this a good deal? Thanks PC!
I ran the wholesale auction numbers for you. Only two 2001's have sold in the US in the last 45 days with less than 75k miles. Both sold for about 6k. If they are replacing the HYBRID battery, and not the regular 12v battery, I would say it is a good deal.
Thanks for running those numbers for me. They are replacing the Hybrid high voltage battery. Do you know how much the battery is for the 2001's? Thanks!
Welcome. Enjoy your new (to you) Prius! When you go through Laguna Niguel or Huntington Beach area, wave hi to my family members out there!
