Anyone have any idea or information about when the 2006 Prius will start to be available for delivery to dealers? :)

Probably in Sept. or Oct...that's when they start attaching the new model year to the Prius.

It will be unchanged from the '05 so I wouldn't factor that into your decision.

I believe September 15 is the magic date when production of the 2006 car begins. Nothing will change for 2006, except probably another msrp increase.

My 2005 Prius of which I took delivery on September 15, 2004, was produced in August 2004.

Really? No fair, I believe that's when my '04 was produced that I bought in August. Need to examine that sticker in the door jamb again.

How do you know it will be unchanged? Just your opinion? There is a thread:
    http://priuschat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8478

that seems to indicate that there might be an updated version in 2006.

ok. Depends on your definition of 'no change'. For any car, it's rarely a carry-over model. There will be minor changes (e.g. the front suspension of the 01/02/03 Civic are all different) but I think Evan's looking at a greater picture in terms of equipment, specifications and colour options

I'd agree -- from the other thread, I'd call this a "minor change" -- i.e., not a complete remodel, or a significant change to the way the car runs.

Which would be in keeping with the "wait until 2007 or later" for a major change.
