Who wants to play? After prices are announced, somebody can tabulate the total differences with a spreadsheet. Maybe Toyota will throw in some free car mats or something as a prize to whoever has the lowest total difference. I’m just gonna stick with round numbers since I really don’t have a clue. Prius II $23,000 Prius III $24,200 Prius III w/ Nav $25,200 Prius III w/ Nav & Solar $27,700 Prius IV $26,000 Prius IV w/ Nav $27,000 Prius IV w/ Nav & Solar $29,500 Prius V $28,000 Prius V w/ Nav $29,000 Prius V w/ Nav & Adv Tech $31,500 I assembled these combinations based on the info here: http://priuschat.com/forums/2010-toyota-prius/58321-2010-prius-models-option-packages.html
Can we play? Actually, just a thought, you might check out www.predictify.com. Could be a fun tool for a game like this. Doug Coleman Prius Product Manager Toyota Motor Sales, USA
I hate to root against you Mirak, but I sure hope you're way off on the $2500 hit for the solar/sunroof. Your guess would make the sunroof package a $3500 option. Yikes.
Preliminary pricing for SR was $1,400, so that guess is way high. Nav was also $1,400, so that guess may be low.
This should work. MSRP for 2010 Toyota Prius - Predictions and Opinions - - Predictify Let me know if it doesn't.
BTW, my guess is as low as I would love it to be, but I think it will be higher (I just don't want it to be!!) LOL Prius II $22,500 Prius III $24,000 Prius IV $26,000 Prius V $28,000 Sunroof/nav upgrade: $2000 Adv tech upgrade: $2800
Sure, as long as you post your "guesses" by noon EDT tomorrow. Doesn't look like predictify allows more than one guess, so let's just put the predictions in this thread. And this game only works if everybody plays by the same rules! Make a guess for each of the 10 possible configurations. When prices are posted, figure out how far off you were on each configuration, then add all the differences up. Lowest total wins. And no editing you predictions once they're posted!!!
Here goes nothing... P2 = $24,000 P3 = $26,500 P4 = $28,000 P5 = $28,750 Sun/Nav = $3,500 ATP = $4,800
Alright, if just for fun.... P2 = $22,500 (take THAT insight) P3 = $23,750 P4 = $25,649 P5 = $27,999 Nav = $1,500 Sun/Nav = $2,500 ATP = $3,900
I would suggest that we all guess low, to put some price pressures on the Prius Team. Don't want to give them an excuse to raise the price now do we......
haha, good point . Prius IV = $16,000 w/ Adv. Tech Package at $100. I would still hold out for some rebates
Ha! At the rate things are going, September 2009 there will be a "two for one" sale: Buy one 2010 model ZVH30 Prius for MSRP Get a second 2009 NHW20 for half-off Sad to say, there will be a GM contest to get buyers into their show rooms: 1st Prize - a brand new Aveo 2nd Prize - two brand new Aveos 3d Prize - a Hummer Everybody
Disclaimer: I sell them. The extras for certain features like the JBL + Bt are pretty much standard across all Toyota models. Typically Toyota doesn't change prices much from the old MSRP to the new one. However this market we're in churns everything up big time. Prices include Frt but not taxes and not mats Prius II .. $23900 Prius III .. $24900 No Navi Prius III .. $26700 Navi only Prius III .. $28200 Navi + SRP Prius IV .. $26400 No Navi Prius IV .. $28200 Navi only Prius IV .. $29700 Navi + SRP Prius V .. $27800 No Navi Prius V .. $29600 Navi only Prius V .. $33500 Navi + ATP Prius Plugin ... $38990 ( j/k )
If the prices below are close to bottom lines on a window sticker ... I will be fairly pissed and feel ripped off for what was paid for this 09 back in the good 'ole Summer of 2008. Sure, the 09's all come with 3 door smart key, but the Auto-dimming mirror in the pack3 and up actually does not dim headlights back there enough at night. Also, the pack4's and up have the scary HID headlights which can cost $400 per side unless you haggle with Toyota after the 3 year mark. 2010's going to whup butt on the 09. And geez, look at the resale values of the Gen2's now. Down much more than a conventional car. $26k shoveled out so far and *only* $5.3k more to go.
Turn the mirror upside down. That'll get the sensor above the line of sight of the rear spoiler. Be careful of the wires when you do that.
