Has anyone actually ordered and received a set of these wheels? Or are they more like that shining ideal on a pedestal that everyone lusts after, but no one can afford? If someone on PC has got them, I'd love to see a pic of them mounted on their Prius.
I'm actually looking to buy these - so far I'm told that a set of four 16x6 is going to be about 2 grand shipped. I'm not sure whether to get these or some other, wider rims considering tire choices (since the stock prius touring wheel size is so limited because it's a funny size). Also, I'm not so hot about the $400 increase in price (from a few months ago) due to the USD/yen exchange rate. In terms of pictures, the only thing I could find were these two:
With tyres fitted would that make them lighter as there is less tyre on more rim? and less air volume, or am I being dumb? Simon
See this thread below. It should improve the acceleration by 1 second as well. http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-m...-racing-ce28-eco-drive-wheels-prius-only.html
For the 15" rim, Nokian I3 185/65/15 is 1lbs lighter than the OEM Integrity. I am not aware of any other tire that is lighter than OEM.
Anyone know of any lightweight performance-oriented summer tires I could put on these? I could really care less about ride quality, quietness, and tread life (no, no R-comps) but I don't want the all-seasons that other PCers like.
Volk marketing magic. These are only for our car. Notice just how many different lug patterens you can get on this set? Think there is a set of Volks for every car made. For some there are 10-20 different sets(BMW) you can get all at #'s north of 2k. You do have to pay to lower unsprung weight and 10lb wheels are going to cost.
