Has anyone found pricing info yet? The only reference I found so far is automobilemag article that says the estimated price is $23k 2010 Toyota Prius - Roomier Interior - Toyota Hybrid Sedan Review - Automobile Magazine G
The Edmunds review estimates the base model to start at $24,220. ($23,500 MSRP + $720 Destination Charge)
Ahh, we've all discussed the edmunds pricing, now to just wait for finalized pricing from Toyota... That's what matters...
I kind of thought that might happen today. With the car coming out in 8 weeks pricing should be coming very soon.
With the Insight already on dealer floors and the Fusion pricing out and Ford dealers are taking orders you would think Toyota would release their pricing to keep buyers that are on the fence in the Toyota market. I know I will keep waiting. Also the local dealers still have quite a few 2009s on the lot. My local dealer went from 14 on the lot two weeks ago to just 9 yesterday.
Maybe the price is so close to the 2009, that they are waiting till the last possible minute.
That would be cool.... Actually that seems like a reasonable assumption. Who wants to by the old and inferior when you can have the new and improved for the same price. G
We haven't been told the exact date pricing will come out, but sources at Toyota confirm that it will definitely come out before the end of April. There will continue to be discounts on 2009's as dealers work on clearing out that inventory to make way for 2010's.
According the price confirmed for Japan, 2010 Prius won't cost more than the 09, if equally equipped.
I noticed on the Toyota web site that the discount on a 2009 Prius went from 750 to 1000 and they are also offering 4.9% financing. Seems like they want to sell most of their 2009's before they announce the price of the 2010's. I just hope it's not too much longer.
I have a question for Danny or the Prius Team.....Are we going to be told eventually that the pricing will be announced on a certain date or will the pricing just appear in the news ?
This depends on location. In my area, other sources showed Toyota's rebate dropping from $750 last month to $500 this month. But my first check of the Toyota site does show a local rebate of $750 now. NorCal had a much better deal during a portion of February. ====== Update: A Prius TV advertisement moments ago confirms that the local rebate has returned to $750, from $500 in the same ad just a few days ago.
. . . . and since an '09 won't have a PV sunroof package, nor will it have the 17" rims, LED's w/ parking/lane assist package, that means . . . . . what
There are thousands of 09s languishing on lots across the country. I expect package #2s will be moving for 20,000 otd (everything, taxes included) as soon as the 2010s hit the showrooms. You can already get them for 20500 + tax now. I was waiting for the 2010, but is it really worth $6000 more (otd) than a 2009? From what I've seen, probably not.
Good question. I'd like to post an announcement beforehand to get everyone all excited, but we often find we get last-minute hiccups just with the bureaucracy around pricing, so it gets delayed a day or so. So we'll just wait and see. But guess what? We have finalized the price internally, and I know what it is. I'm just not tellin'! OK. Step 1 is done. Step 2 . . .? I've waited a few months already, so I'll hang in a bit longer (waving, like a wild man, in front of the screen, looking for attention).
I was at the local Toyota dealer last week, and saw dozens of Prii for sale -- perhaps 40. The only people wondering around were sales. This time around I don't think the msrp for the new model is going to matter very much.
I'm waiting for the 2010 Prius, but I won't pay MSRP, and if that is what the dealers want, I'll wait some more or buy an Insight. I agree that MSRP will not be what we are paying this time around. At least not after the first few weeks. It will be interesting to see if dealers try to get MSRP or more, early on, for those who want the new Prius NOW and are are willing to pay MSRP for it. One could buy a 2010 Insight for less than MSRP the day after they came out. So, some time in April? Is that the best we have as far as when pricing will come out?
