Wet Okole seat covers

How easy is the removal and re-install if you ever find a need to remove them? How's the "feel"......worth the $$?
How was their service yadda yadda yadda.........

I'll try to post some pix. Last weekend I tried but the board wasn't responding. If you look at the pix on the Wet Okole site (or those at the beginning of this thread) you will see how they fit. They look just like those pix.

Removal / reinstall shouldn't be all that hard, just from looking at them, but I had Wet Okole install them so I am just going by looks.

The feel is great. They add a bit of padding which increases comfort over the rather uncomfortable Prius regular seat. I also had them install a lumbar support - I highly recommend that for anyone with a bad back (as I have). It isn't fancy (manual inflate / deflate) but it is effective.

Their service was good. They installed them in the time frame promised, and did a good job in the manufacture and installation. No complaints here.

The best part of the covers are the fit. They are tight enough so that the covers do not slide as you move around in your seat, and they do not wrinkle. They look almost like a factory installed interior in this regard.

 

Just received our Wetokole seat covers yesterday. We're very pleased. We went with the black and tan (#17) with the half piping (tan) and the Prius logo (i.e. wording). Installation was easy. Seat back and head rest covers went on easy without needing directions. Initially, we had a problem with the seat bottoms. However, they forgot to include the install directions. A quick phone call and we received them via e-mail. After that, we had no further problems. My husband's taking some pictures right now. We'll post them later.

 

Just finished installing front seat covers from Wet Okole. They look and fit great. Installation took about a hour with lots of bending and stooping and crawling under the front seats to buckle them. I got the Purple Aloha and it looks really good set against the tan/ivory interior. I don't have a digital camera or I would post some pictures. I would say I am satisfied so far. Let's see how they feel and wear over the next few weeks.

 

I just ordered the Charcoal #11 and Black with half piping. I also ordered the storage pockets for both front seats and a custom logo. The logo will be the diver down flag. They should look like the picture posted above but in charcoal.

I have the hot pink/yellow/orange island insert with black border; lumbar support in driver and passenger side plus the added zipper pouches on the back of the seat covers. They are the BEST! The lumbar support has made all of the difference to me. No problems so far ... they're not hot or sticky ... fast clean-up. The guys at Wet Okole were great to work with and the installation was very fast!

Just got back from the OC Prius meet in Laguna Niguel ... great fun ... many tried out my seats and asked for info.

I received my Wet Okole's this week. I got the #11 Charcoal and Black with half piping in Charcoal. I also got the rear pockets and put on a custom graphic. They look a little bit more gray in the pictures than they really are. They look great and match the interior of the 05's Grey/Burgendy 8)

I've had my Okole covers for a month or so. So far the fit remains excellent, comfort is excellent, and no early wear apparent. The only negative: they are waterproof, so if you sweat, the moisture accumulates rather than dissipates. On a long drive this can be a nuisance. The covers do not get overly hot in the sun, but moisture becomes trapped between the seat cover and your skin, which can make your clothes damp.

I really never noticed that much of a problem with my last set of neoprene seat covers. But I do notice that same effect when wearing my wet suit and its a warm day. Can't wait to get into the cold water then.

 

Does Wet Okole offer a cover for the center console or the armrests on the doors?

In the picture of Breezy's seat covers I see a cover on the center console that looks the same as the black on the seat cover. Breezy, was this from Wet Okole or where did you get that cover?

I just ordered neoprene covers from Costco.com...they're from CoverKing. Costco price is almost 100 bucks less than their retail price. I hope I'm as happy as everyone one is with the Wet Okales. Anyone else buy these?

 

Wet Olole will make a center console cover. I believe it was an added $20. I also have the one from Prius Hoods on eBay. They are much better and that is what I have chosen to use.

The center console cover was included with the price of the pair of front bucket seat covers as well as head rest covers from Wetokole. I'm not sure if they sell the center console cover separately but don't know why they wouldn't. We are extremely happy with the quality of the entire set. They fit like a glove. Our Toyota dealer sales manager saw them and is planning on ordering from Wetokole for his car. As for the side armrests, I don't know of anything to cover them. It would be pretty difficult to attach covers to them. I'd love to know if anyone out there knows of anything.

Wet Okole charged me for the center console. I bought front, rear, and custom graphics and seat back pockets. They should have thrown in the center but charged me $20.

 

Thanks Breezy and ScubaX for the info on the center console. Do they use the same waterproof materials for the center console?

For the Prius graphic that some people have, I notice it's not exactly like the Prius logo, did Wet Okole provide that grahic or did you have to submit a custom graphic? Did anyone try submitting them a more accurate verion of the prius logo? I'm wondering if they might refuse for legal reasons.

ScubaX, thanks for the info on Prius hoods, I have seen their stuff on ebay but was turned off because they had only leather. I noticed they mention that they also have fabric, I will check them out and see what they have to offer in their fabric versions.

I just purchased these covers. Some thoughts. First, they really are sharp looking. Second, they are painfully expensive. Third, they are a nightmare to install. The Okole package came with a note that said "we are unagle to assist you", damn straight, because if they were it would take them a novel. All of the seat covers were difficult to install. The back bottom requires that you remove the seat, not difficult, but try to find information on how to remove it - good luck. The seat is held down in the front by two plastic clips on eaither side - grasp it firmly on either side of the clip and pull straight up. The back seat cover is not cut correctly to accomodate the seat belt clips - my solution, remove the side seat belt clips, set the seat cover, and replace the clips over the okole cover. The front seat cover requires that you unclip the existing top seat cover back flap - reach underneath the seat and you will find two elastic bands, unclip these and fold the flap back up into the seat back pocket. My wife tells me that they install them for free if you go to their factory in CA - we live in NY, but it would have been worth the trip cross country. All that said, if you get them on, they look great. One thing, the shampoo package is a rip off, not sure the lumbar supports are worth it either. We got black and charcoal, very nice with the prius interior. Though I wonder if wine would have gone well with the red salsa prius. Good luck!

 

Regarding the Prius logo on Wetokole seat covers:
The Prius logo on our seats was not a custom graphic. It was just their standard one. I called Wetokole and asked about not seeing the Prius logo advertised on the "custom graphics" web pages. They said that Toyota would not allow them to post it. However, I never actually inquired about submitting a copy of the Prius logo for them to put on the seats. It looks to me like the "P" and the "R" are the only two letters that look significantly different. Why not call Wetokole and ask?

 

I bought essentially the same front seat covers that Scuba has - black and charcoal with 1/2 piping, minus the scuba logo - and after a week of use and a 600mi. road trip am immensely pleased with them.

A bit skeptical of the whole notion of seat covers from the start, I planned to try them out in the front before investing in the rear covers. As it turns out, I find both the aesthetics and utility of these covers to be superior to the stock Toyota fabric in virtually all respects and will, without hesitation, complete the set in the rear. The colors appropriately complement the light gray interior of the car, the neoprene spared one of my seats from a green tea + pothole mishap, and the extra padding adds a bit of comfort to the ride. I can confirm the experience of other posters in that they do trap heat, but even in the 95+ degree weather of the past few days here in the mid-Atlantic region, the additional thermal insulation wasn't uncomfortable.

Installation was a breeze, and took me less than 30 minutes to complete the pair. Be careful not to track grease from the seat rails onto any of the interior when you're strapping in the bottom covers.

Wet Okole did include the center console cover at no additional charge. The fit of this particular piece could be a little bit better (it slighly impairs closing the cover), but it's a nominal complaint that doesn't detract enough from the value of having a color/fabric coordinated console to warrant finding a replacement product.

Shipping time was a bit long at about 4 weeks, but I suppose you may be able to circumvent this by purchasing from a dealer/installer.

I can post pictures if anyone's interested.

Summary: highly recommended for anyone who for ethical or other reasons chooses not to install leather.
