My 2008 used to be able to open the garage door from 2 houses away. Now, I must be sitting immediately in front of the garage door for it to work, and even then, I press 5 or 6 times before the door raises. This has been going on for several days now. Does my car need warranty service or is this something easy I'm overlooking?
Could be Homelink dying or your opener dying. Can you try one of your opener clickers and see if they work any better?
EZW1, I will dig out the opener when I can remember where the heck I stored it. My wife has not had trouble using the homelink equivalent in our Acura, so I'm going with dying homelink for now. I was posting to make sure it was nothing easy I was overlooking to figure this out. Thanks-
Did you try reprogramming the unit? Not sure if over time, any rolling codes may be slightly out of sync requiring more "time", but could really just be the transmitter. I've noted the range on my Homelink device has never been as good as the opener's transmitter, nor as quick (takes 0.75-1.0 sec on Homelink vs. instant w/ OEM opener).
Could this be a warning sign of weakness in the 12V battery? I had one instance recently when the homelink failed to open the garage door. Later, it worked just fine. I am planning to change the 12V battery soon, as it is almost 5 years old, and I want to avoid a battery failure.
