Hey folks- I'm at the point where after owning nothing but older cars that I run until the wheels fall off, I've decided that it's time to finally get a new car, and make sure it fits with the 21st century, so the Prius it is! I've decided that the 2009 model is perfect for me, and since the economy isn't the best and car sales are slow, it shouldn't be too difficult to be able to get a good price on one. At this moment I'm gathering quotes from various local dealers, and the one model I'm looking at (Spectra Blue with Package 5) I'm hoping to get for just around $24k. I just wanted to say thanks much for this forum as there have been a lot of things pointed out that I should be looking for and a lot of tips that I hadn't thought of at all! I'm really looking forward to joining the modern age!
DHardy..........hi and welcome to PC!!!!! I have had "Eleanor", my 09 package 3 for two months. I just love the car; it is an awesome car....without factoring in the gas savings. Come back often; there's a lot of information here and plenty of people willing to help you out..............
Thanks folks! I just finalized everything and go pick up my new Prius tomorrow morning! Although I did make a bit of a calculation mistake and it's ending up costing me $24974 before tax/etc, I'm still hyped!
thats not a bad price for a pkg 5 enjoy - especially when you drive PAST gas stations without stopping
You still did well. Congrats and welcome to the Prius owners club. I am a veteran Prius owner of over 7 weeks - ha - still a newbie.
With this car, you'll be 10 years ahead in the future because the competition is just trying to catch up.
:welcome: Welcome to PriusChat, DHardy! You'll find PC even more useful once you have your baby and the abstract becomes real. Have fun driving!
It's wonderful. You can see reflected in the side my old Mercedez that I'm giving to a charity. She was a good workhorse, but now it's time to be modern. Woot!
DHardy............he/she's beautiful!!! Is that "snow" I see in the background there?? It caught my eye since we don't get that but once every 20 years or so.........actually the last time was December 11.....3 inches...... It's a fun ride.....enjoy the quiet!!!
