ive got a buddy who just gave me a set of his 2004 audi a4. any think its possible, or even reasonable, to try and put them on my 08 prius. im sure it would hamper the gas mileage, but it would look pretty clean. the prius is 5-100 and the audi rims i believe are 5-112....
Hi Debos, I think the 2 mm difference in the bolt hole pattern is too much. The nuts would work themselves free. Unless your an excellent welder, and expert metalurgist, I do not think it would be prudent to modify these rims to fit the Prius.
i understand the difference, and i think i left the part about getting adapters which convert the 100 too 112....i dont know if anyone has any experience with this type of conversion, but thats more at what i was gettig at....
Unless you change out the 5 x 100 assembly, an adaptor will be a waste of time. For one, the adaptor piece will need to be thick enough to withstand the torque. Any thin piece will end up cracking and/or breaking into pieces, which will take your wheel(s) with it. Imagine that happening on the freeway at 85mph. Secondly, adding any adaptor to the original assembly means your offset is now affected. With that said, there are plenty of 5x100 to 5x114.5 swap kits out there - I'd imagine there would be a 5x100 to 5x112 as well. Good luck in your search.
