My Mercury was in for service today. I am trying to hold out for a 201 Prius. Ford had pricing on a 2010 Fusion fully loaded, moon roof, microsoft sync, navigation, leather seats etc. $30,800. I wonder if this and the Insight will put some pressure on Toyota to keep the 2010 prices lower
That is a bit lower price than I thought we'd see. According to the Chicago Tribune, the base price was going to be about $27,270, and I'd think the amenitites you've described should add up to more than $3,500. Still, if that is the MSRP, then it should be putting pressure on Toyota to keep the price down on the 2010 Prius. The link to the Chicago Tribune article is in my thread Chicago Tribune: 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid to Start at $27,270.
I wonder if that price has already taken into account the tax credit. If not, with the credit tagged on that deal's a steal.
if thats really the price for the fusion..... damm then some competition is going to start up in a while.
This Fusion was the one the dealer had already placed an order on for his lot. No dedicated purchaser. It also did not take into account any tax credit This wa the MRSP
Now was this the Fusion HYBRID or just the regular gas Fusion? A 2010 Fusion Sport V6 FWD with the leather seats, nav, moon and tune package, and reverse sensor has an MSRP of $31,320. The gas Fusions starts at $19,270 and the Hybrid does indeed start in the $27k range
OK. I didn't exactly get $30,800, but a very quick online search at www.ford.com got me an MSRP of $31,940, and this is for a pretty-well stocked Ford Fusion Hybrid. Here is what you get for that price: 2.5L Atkinson I4 Engine Aisin Powersplit eCVT Automatic Transmission Moon Roof Upgraded radio (Sony Dolby DAEP 5.1 Surround Sound w/ in-dash 6-CD changer and MP3 capable) with 10GB hard drive included Driver's Vision package (warning for cars in blind spot and behind car when backing up Rear-view camera Voice-activated NAV Leather Trimmed Seats Heated Front Seats 8-way power driver seat/6-way power pass seat Real-time traffic updates available through SIRIUS (extra charge) 17" wheels That's not too bad -- it is a package price with some nice cost savings. Also, if you buy within the next two weeks you qualify for the full tax credit: $3,400.
Showing a $29,145.00 invoice price on edmunds.com, fully loaded. Aggressive shoppers might be able to get one for under 30K, assuming they don't turn out to be "hot" sellers like the Prius was last year. Take another $3400 off for the tax credit and that's a heck of a deal.
I think the only problem is finding one ready to go so that the purchase can be made by March 31 -- after that date the credit is cut in half.
