I have seen the above shown image and I really like it. I like it's features and I also like it's color. Thanks for sharing. Stella
Holy neck! can you imagine the mpg's or EV range with those mongo road sticky wide meats on those bling bling 24" rims. bye bye Lutz.
Do the Caddie, we need more ugly as sin cars in this world. How do they sell those dog ugly things? You can confirm this with FireEngineer, I almost puked when I saw a Cadillac while travelling in the USA. Please can we ban ugly cars?
Err, not quite. The first gen. Prius was basically an Echo with a battery. From the outside you can confuse them. My guess at the time was that they deliberately made it ordinary looking in hope of not scaring potential buyers away with too much strange newness.
I should have clarified, I was talking about Gen2. I'll admit that the fact it was clearly a different car was a selling point for me. Right now "strange newness" would be a good thing in the auto industry.
The first U.S. sales figures, which I read recently, placed total sales for the Gen II Prius (first "generation" of Prius imported for mass-market sales in the U.S.) at 15,556 units by 2001.
From the outside only. No mistaking the mpg on the inside. I would be willing to bet that the Echo copied the Prius more than the other way around. The low cd did not come from copying the Echo.
I skimmed through "The Prius that Shook the World". I believe the design came from the concept car studios in Japan and California. The attitude from Toyota was quite clear that this was a new platform, not one to be based on anything in production. First sales were December 1997 in Japan.
