I'm talking about if you work in a relatively clean office environment. I usually will wear each pair 3 times before I wash them. Tops I change cause of B.O., but my B.O. doesn't get on my pants. Anyone else do this?

For Sand Colored Khakis or Chinos: 3 days, just like you.

For Blue or Grey Wool Suit or Dress Pants: 10 days.

some of my jeans ( i'm still a student so wear jeans daily) i'll wear them until they get dirty, this could be a few days or a month. i see no point in washing a pair of jeans that have no dirt on them, don't smell, and sometimes only get worn fora few hours/ not even out of my apartment.

my khakis go by the same principle though they get washed a little more frequently, and my dress pants get dry cleaned on an irregular basis depending on how often they've been worn, ie, after dancing all night at my sisters wedding they needed it badly. after a 20 minute interview, not so much.

3-5 days for jeans / uniform pants
    3 days for khakis
    3 time for dress slacks

As others said it depends on what I'm doing but the above it typical.

I'll wear my Carhart's for a couple of weeks unless they get really greasy or wet. Same for my Levi's. My Levi's rotate from "new, clean" to "old work" over the course of a year or so. I buy 2 new pairs per year,, mostly to have a pair of "new, clean dress pairs"

I have always contended that excess washing kills clothes!

    Depends (like many already said)
Some dry clean pants may get infrequent wear, and only go in every other year
Some water washed pants last several days, but eventually may start to smell like butt :p so they go in.
Others (house car fixin' junk) get washed after a couple hours.

I forgot to mention the "Smell Test".

Sometimes the results of the Smell Test override any maintenance schedule.

    This thread wins! LoL :cheer2:

Jeans are my primary "work" pant (office environment) and they get washed every 5-6 days, i.e. washed on weekends.

I know a guy that wears his 4 days. On day 2 he puts them on backward, then on days 3 and 4 he pulls them inside out...... Oh sorry - that's his underwear.

As far as office clothes, now that I can work from the home 90% of the time, I only have to clean those every month or so. Back when I had to be at the office 5 days a week, the cleaning schedule was more like everybody elses

Tell this guy that he could squeeze an extra day out of those pants by wearing them upside down on day 5! ;)

The interview suit that I got it college 20 years ago, has only been washed once. It still passes the smell test. And it still fits.

I wear them until they are dirty. If it's just my normal jeans, I might go for five days if I'm only doing desk work. Dress clothes usually get washed more often, but mostly because they are used in smoky and/or stressful environments.

I have gone much longer before washing in extenuating circumstances, only once ending up with ringworm (gotta love those fungal infections).

Here's an addendum to this question. Do you ever wear clean work out clothes to work out(for me that's biking, running, weights, gardening, hiking)? In my closet is a partition(the floor) where semi dirty clothes go(ie t-shirts or shorts that have 8-40 hours of wear, since last wash). Those I use to work out, then they get washed. Underwear or socks I never wear clean out of the drawer for workouts.
