Has anyone purchased a *warranty* on protecting the interior upholstery from any stain such as coke, coffee, mud, oil, etc., also the exterior from rust in the undercarriage...not sure of coverage for the exterior, but mainly was interested in the interior protection. If you get a stain and can't remove it, take it to the, and if they can't they replace upholstery? I have the gray fabric seats...or will when I get the car.....looking for opinions whether this is something I need, or if anyone else has it. I usually don't buy things like this but since I'm hoping the resell value will be good on this car and the cleaner I can keep it the better. The cost is $597 for five years........

For a lot less money you could buy a set of seat covers from www.gtcovers.com.

I'm just naturally leery of the type of program you describe. Not too long ago, an aftermarket extended warranty provider, 'Warranty Gold", went belly up and left all its' customers holding the bag. Just out of curiousity, who is offering the service you provide and how did you hear of it?

I've Scotchguarded the interior of my Prius and installed floor and cargo area mats. Maybe a little later I'll spring for the seat covers.

Good luck with your new car!

I heard about it Beaman Toyota in Nashville, TN...The company is local here in town. It takes a day for them to put the protectant on...give you a car for that day of course. I still am not sure myself....I think those seat covers you referred me to look fine. I just always have a diet coke in the car with me and eventually it spills.......

You're thowing away money. The upholstery on the Prius is pretty well impossible to stain. There are posts elsewhere in this chatline attesting to its durability and ease of cleaning. About the only other thing you might worry about is getting into the car with a screwdriver in your back pocket.
If you are worried, you can get seat covers as suggested by the other poster. Most of the extended warranties are a waste of money according to Consumer Reports.
