Wanted to start a thread specifically for the adapted cruise control. I know it was somewhat discussed in the ACC, LKA thread that 155 started. But I thought it was worhty of its own thread. Will start off with the DENSO links to the system. ACC link Vehicle distance ECU millimeter wave radar Scott
Thank you for posting these links. Do you know, with any level of certainty, these are the products Toyota will be using in the 2010? Also, do you know whether the Prius system incorporate the laser or millimeter wave radar?
from what i understand. it is the denso products. and they will be using the millimeter wave radar. Scott
In the ACC link you can read: "DENSO’s products are used in ACC systems, including the system that regulates vehicle speed even at rates from zero to 30 km/hr.". Does it means 2010 Prius will be able to use ACC at low speeds, like in a traffic jam? It would be very nice, in my opinion. I face a traffic jam almost every day, so this kind of device would be very helpful to avoid having to accelerate and brake all the time. The car could do it and the driver would only have to take care of the steering wheel.
