If you willing to do some leg work, you may get $5000 off MSRP for a pkg 6 09, $3000 off from dealer + $2000 rebate.
Hey, we're Canadians. We're -LUCKY- to get a Prius, IF we can find one at a dealer. Oh, and don't buy one when/where I do. I paid full list price. The next year the price dropped $2000 -AND- it was the touring package. This year the price has dropped a further $1000. The story of -my- life.
Rebates are unheard of here. The dealer may discount the car, and there may be special offers, but you almost never mail in details of a purchase and get a cheque back. Toyota GB have a sale on selected models at the moment, including up to £4,695 off an Avensis 2.0 litre diesel, T2 grade, but I think this a clearance of old models. No discounts on the Prius at present.
Inventory Search Only good through 2/16. It is advertised on TV in California as President's Day sale..
Looks to be Norcal only. Go to website below, and put in Sacramento for example: BuyaToyota.com $2,000 cash back on Toyota Prius!! 8 days only!! $2,000 cash back on all Toyota hybrids!! For 8 days only! Offer Ends 2/17/2009 Socal is only $500 but gets a $279 lease. Here in PHX its still at $750. Looks like a lot of the Camry deals (cashback, financing) now include hybrid and there are TCH lease deals too. Rob
We paid full price too (but factory ordered!) and only got $750 from the BC gov't. 6 months later, the BC gov't bumped the rebate to $2,000. 2006 saw upgrades and 2007 saw the GST rebate. And yes the two price drops to $29,500 then $27,600 (then $27,400 for 2009 then back up to $27,710)
It's true. I bought my 2009 Prius from Round Rock Toyota on Wednesday (2/11) for $2000 off of MSRP. My total with TT&L was still under MSRP.
Yesterday(Saturday) I went to Hayward Toyota (Hayward, Ca) and got a 2009 package 6 for ...$22888. The original cost on the sticker was over $30,000. With all the taxes, registration etc is was slighly over $25,00 out the door. SOme dealers are charging that much for a package 2(which lists for more than what I paid for it . The salesman's name is Sammy Baig Internet/Fleet Manager Hayward Toyota/Scion Phone: 510-889-8000 ext.204 Fax: 510-889-6701. Just tell him Mitch sent you and you should get that deal. However $ $2000 rebate ends Monday and they only had Silver version( I already have a 2006 silver Prius and also a Silver Toyota Corolla. I was wondering if the factory only made Silver Prius's
For What It's Worth -- "There's something happening here ... what it is ain't exactly clear " We're thinking of adding a 2009 to the fleet. Out the door price for one w VSC + we keep our tires and we do not know what else was on it .... $23,800.... that includes taxes, lic + everything else. We'll wait a while for something near or south of 20k .. no rush.
That sounds like an amazing deal. Out here in Maryland the price for a package 6 before taxes and fees is very close to $25k. The Toyota incentive on Prius in this region is $750 at the moment. The Camry Hybrid incentive, on the other hand, is at $1500. I'm planning to buy one or the other this week.
Offer for package 6 in chicago before taxes/fees is around $25k at the moment as well, plus now dealers are trying to force my hand by saying that the $500 discount is going to be removed, etc., which I don't believe. If I could get a package 6 for under $24k + the ipod adapter, I'd pull the trigger today.
We bought ours in Ottawa in April 2008. I think they were clearing out the 2008s as one local dealer had over 10 in stock. I took my carcost canada report in and got $900 off MSRP after a couple days of bargaining. I got $2000 rebate from Ontario govt and $2000 GST rebate. When they lowered the MSRP by $2000 in July, I emailed Toyota Canada asking if they would be able to do anything. No dice although I was told that the $2000 reduction was due to the fact that the fed was getting rid of the $2000 GST rebate for 2009s. You would be hard press to find any 2008s by then and you would not get the $2000 GST rebate for 2009s.
Your package should read "B" if you got the Premium Package. The price drops made it a much better case to purchase a Prius over a Camry LE (even though I'd say it's closer to an XLE).
