Wait a second - you're telling us you can sell a base RAV4-EV for $34k out the door with 100mi range? You're going to sell a ton more of those instead of the loaded $50k+ versions.

When I saw "limited" in the title I thought it was about to read about a "limited electric vehicle", might want to consider that in your marketing material so that it is not confused with an NEV.

I'm in Japan but that new Hymotioned Prius for 29,000USD sounds great. 25 miles would do a lot of folk fine.

Good luck with the RAV4 too.

I too fell into the easily confused hole.

The hybrid marketing battle will be in the $15-20K price range. With government rebates, hybrids will become cost competitive with compact ICE cars. That will drive volume up, and economies to scale will reduce prices further.

$40-50K vehicles have no high volume potential. It's a tough sell.

legislation going to HoR for vote would give 10% credit on vehicles up to $40,000 so that would $4000 credit right there. not much, but toss in WA State tax relief that would be another $4000 that makes it around $47,000 still a bit spendy.

This is never going to be a high volume project. We will make 6 at a time and scale up or down as demand warrants.

Hi. I'm still interested in finding out more about this project. I believe Darrell has asked very important questions and not gotten answers. How is heat being handled? How is Air conditioning done?
    My questions include:
    What electric motor is used?
    Battery?
    BMS?
    Controller?

i'm looking for enough technical information to assess whether this would be a viable option for me. 50K is spendy --- so expect lots of questions, especially on this kind of non-production product.

My brother was just talking about getting an electric car for his daily driver (he's retired and only goes to the store and the marina). Do you have a web site that I can direct him to?

    Oh, and Best of Luck!

We will be posting more data soon on the company website.

    The Green Car Company

The first one has sold, so that 2009 RAV4 EV conversion will be completed in late April or early May. We will keep that vehicle for one month to provide customer and media test drives. The new owner has graciously agreed to let us use/test the first one for 1,000 miles.

We are gathering deposits for the next batch of six that we will build. So far we have two customers that have committed to that group of six EV conversions. When we have the full six committed customers, we will begin the ordering process for parts and vehicles.

Agree. I first thought it was about a NEV (very Limited).
    Maybe call it "Limited Edition"?

Thanks for keeping us posted on this project!

Auto bailout funds should be going to these type of start up alternative auto companies instead of to GM. The bailout funds should be building a new green auto industry, not keeping GM afloat for a few more months.

Tesla & Toyota are now saying (as of several weeks ago) that they are going to take a whack at doing the rav-4ev thing... only w/ a longer warranty.geez, It's like a conspiracy to drive this project out of existence ... because who'd not rather wait for the bigger company to do this ... with their bigger service network.

Well, here in America there aren't many people who are willing to wait for anything they feel they should have NOW.

No mention on the website. Not enough takers i am guessing. Good idea but poor timing.
