I recently purchase the VAIS Tech SL2Vi for my 2008 Prius. The video will not work when the car is moving - just as you cannot enter addresses into the Navigation when the car is moving. Apparently there is a fix for this. Does anyone know how to override this so that the videos will play while the car is moving?
how did u get your video to work.. I just installed mine into a 08 prius with Nav. They sent me package #1, but i ended up needing a y-splitter since the 6pin spot on the MFD was already occupied. Vais sent it out asap, but once i got it all assemble.. nada on the video. Just sound Video while the car is moving.. it wont work. I've read that u will need to get the coastaltech lockpick to get that option working. Haven't heard if it works with the SL2Vi well. Something i plan to try in a couple months.. once i can get the video to work. TBD
I installed package 3. I had The Specialists in Tucson install it. They were back and forth with VAIS on the phone and finally got it to work. The video works great but needs to be controlled by the Ipod and will not work when the car is moving.
Gotcha.. Looks like i will have to call VAIStECH to get support. I cant seem to figure out whats not working right, and why i cant view and video on the MFD thx!
There is a eBrake wire thats not connected to the MFD for the Prius 08's. Sounds like its standard. I will have to email Vaistech pictures or the harness on the MFD to get instructions for remedy. Sure hope they don't tell me to cut wires....

Hi there have you got your video working yet? my 08 prius has exactly the same problem... one end of the ebrake wire needs to be connected to the mfd, what about the other end? will really appreciate your help! tks!
Is it true you have to have at least package 3 to get the VAIS SL2Vi to work in your Prius? I called the company on Friday and they told me that. plucas
