I will be making a presentation to the OC Prius Club this afternoon and compiled the following PowerPoint file, converted to .pdf. My interest is mostly the drivetrain, so that is where the presentation's focus is. I'm sharing the draft with the group because we now have ~150 people who have seen and studied the 2010 in Detroit, DC, and NYC. I am also going to have the Media Information DVD with the official Toyota photos in case anyone wants to see detail not shown in the photos embedded in the presentation. If anyone sees glaring errors or has ideas where to get 2010 physical dimensions not shown in the presentation, pls reply. Thanks!
nice powerpoint! but I think there are a few errors you may want to correct before your presentation: "smaller traction battery size" -- I've read many times here at PC that the traction battery is the same size, but some of the cooling and control components are either smaller or packaged better to save space. your net HP numbers ... you say that the battery provides HP. Most of us know what you mean, but I think it's more accurate to say MG (1 or 2?) horsepower. Also, are your numbers right? I don't think you can do simple addition with the ICE and MG horsepower numbers to get 134 HP total. Under "Options" slide - you didn't finish your sentence "remote AC on" [the keyfob].

It's a great job. Actually I think Patrick meant "remote-on AC." As in, you can remotely turn on the AC. (no ability to remotely turn it off.) More compact battery configuration? Oh the electric motors are smaller and lighter. I see question marks for internal dimensions, why not state 5? cubic feet more interior space with little change to external dimensions. Added rear head room through a more rearward roof peak. duel grab handles to lower hatch. Aero-corners? Might rate a mention? Sharp edges on rear for smoother air flow off the vehicle Vanes on rear under-tray for added stability. Do 4 wheel disc brakes rate a mention? I hope this helps.
Actually, you do have the ability to turn off the A/C remotely using the same A/C button on the fob. ON: Press and Hold A/C for more than 2 secs until you hear the beep OFF: Press the A/C button twice.
Thanks to all for your prompt review! (Pat, isn't this past your bedtime??) The ICE and traction battery hp ratings come from the Toyota Prius website. 2009 hp numbers are not additive while 2010 numbers seem to be. I added four-wheel disc brakes and clarified that the traction battery has a smaller physical size but greater rated power. I edited the point about the remote on/off AC. Although I've seen the claim about smaller motor-generators, since I can't see them in the drivetrain model and the transaxle still looks around the same size, I did not include that claim in my presentation. Regarding interior dimensions, since I can't verify the claim of 5 cu ft increased space, I will not include that. However I eventually hope to compare the various dimension categories once they are published for 2010. Evan, thanks for the offer to use your beautiful and very sharp photos. Thanks, I didn't know that. I can go to bed now, I have to learn something new every day. I had to wait till 4.30AM for that. Patrick, yes it is but I'm not tired. I forget where I saw smaller motors. And the 5 cu ft extra space but I know I saw it.
