Probably a dumb question, but I just got my 04 Prius today and on parking it noted the flashing car icon on the display which my manual says is the theft deterrent system indicator. My question is should this continue to flash whenever the car is parked? I didn't see it when I first got in the car at the dealer, and didn't notice it when we stopped for lunch on the way home. It seems a waste of power for this to flash continuously. Thanks in advance for an explanation.
Congratulations to you and your new Prius. Yes, it blinks when the car is unattended. I suppose it drains the battery, but I've as long as you drive the car at least every two weeks or so, I doubt it will cause any problems.
