Sorry for the delay due to a flu. I still have a long video of the Q&A with the Chief Engineer. I have yet to split and post them. Well, enjoy the videos I took at the special event. [Edit]: I added more videos of Q&A with the chief engineer.
I'm sure this has been answered but I haven't seen it with all the 2010 threads going out there... Will the headlight washers make their way over here to the states?
w00t, I made it into a couple of these ;-). I noticed you sat in w/ some of the interviews. Any idea if we'll get some of the other guy's raw footage?
I'm still trying to figure out how I made it into so many videos in the background, as I also spent a lot of time eating (stunningly good food), drinking (the Deconstructed/Reconstructed Raspberry Mules RULED, and the Silver Patron was too good to pass up), and talking to Toyota folks well away from the cars. It was hard to miss me, though ;-) Rae was hard to miss too - we had on the most obnoxious shirts there. You can see me in the Bob Carter interview, trying to jam my arm up to the shoulder in the engine, seeing if we can install the EBH from the top without removing anything other than the plastic top cover - unfortunately, it doesn't look like it can be done. They were freaking out a bit about us doing it - this was early in the night - by the end of the night, they were laughing about how much of the cars had been pulled out (and put back in, of course) to check out features.
I noticed it going on so I angled myself to capture both the interview and you under the hood in the background. That was fun!
I posted more videos of Q&A with the chief engineer. I am posting here to reduce load time due to the number of videos in the first post. There were some interesting, surprising, joyful, funny and embarrassing moments. There was a scene where people were crawling under the Prius and the chief ducking down to explain the improvements to better stabilize at highway. The embarrassing moment is when we were inside the Prius asking about the interior. CE ended up in the middle seat in the rear sandwiched between Flying White Dutchman and I. I asked about the hump being lower to give more leg room for the rear middle seat. I ended up filming between his crotch! The surprise part is the sharp corner in the front and rear bumper made up most of the aerodynamic improvement. My first thought - you guys got a TON more time w/ the chief than those of us w/ the blue dots! LOL I think we may have had 10 minutes tops before they cut us off. Also I was hearing in the 3rd video that the USB option is DEALER added and available on NAV equipped vehicles, which may explain why we didn't see it. Hopefully that's a "reasonably priced" option for iPod integration.
