Has Toyota said what the minimum speeds will be for Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assistance/Lane Deviation Warning on the 2010 Prius?

i believe adaprtive cruise control is 25 mph, while LKA is 50 mph.... LDW works at lower speeds than LKA. LKA works only when ACC is on, since it will steer your car as well.

you know i was watching this in Avensis presentation just yesterday but mind wanders often, and we didnt get ACC/LKA/LDW/PreCrash on our market so didnt pay much attention...

The US market is getting it though right? (I hope)

Was this in information on the web somewhere? I'd love to see it.

I understand you have are a dealer, so I presume you have access to the European media site. Have you seen the new Prius 2010 european version photos?

We have the HUD that AFAIK is not available to the USA market. Any news about that cluster of buttons near the radio on the left side?

After all the talk you had about EuroNCAP and precrash, you finally understood all is needed is VSC ehm? ;)

What else have you learned? Take a closer look at the european prius photos here at this post of mine (click on the photos for high-res):

Yes, the US model will get the Adaptive cruise option. I saw it with my own eyes at the Prius Connect event.

You left out the LKAS? Does that mean the US model is not getting that?

Yes. We saw that too. It's available on the higher packages.

nah, it is needed for EuroNCAP, our market does not get the system, since LKA will not work properly if road lines are not pained always (like on our local roads), so toyota did not allow its sale over here... unlike Honda for instance, where we were able to try it out on new Accord while testing Avensis, and a bit scary experience when no lines are there ;-)

Won't be much use in the U.S. some of the time (at least where I drive) either then, unless it can 'read' lines that are well worn and nearly invisible. They are dandy just after being painted but by spring, they can be hard to find. And of course, winter snow and salt make them disappear pretty well at times.

Plus traveling at 50 mph on snow covered roads would be asking for trouble anyway!

Umm... I don't believe LKA is active > 50mph. I watched a demonstration at Toyota Safety Day in Japan and they showed LKA at the end of the video and I'm sure the car wasn't going at 50mph through the cones.

On my infiniti ex it is active at LKA 40mph and above. So probably will be the same on the Prius as well. It is on, without cruise control being on as well.
The option can be toggled on/off with buttons on the wheel.

Is it true that if you get the sunroof/solar panel / led lights you won't be able to get those options?

I have sunroof / led lights on my infiniti, and I have those options. : (

    40mph seems more reasonable.

True but your Infiniti does not have LED headlights, they're HIDs.

LED may be tied to the other stuff, but not to the sunroof/solar panel.

Snow covered roads at 50+ mph is pretty common. We drive that fast most of the winter.

Maybe I did not make myself clear enough.

European version will get HUD, something the American market will NOT get.

The American market gets LKA which we don't, but they don't get HUD.

If you look at the console picture on my site here: Diferenças entre Prius 2010 Americano e Europeu - Prius-PT just click on the picture with the console and look at the top left side of the radio, next to the clock setting buttons...

If you zoom enough you'll see this button cluster:

which is absent from all North American models. This is specific for the European market. I took these pictures on my site from the Toyota Europe media site, they are as official as they can be.

My only question is "what features does HUD display?". I can bet on night vision and body recognition like we saw earlier on the Crown equipment.

You can clearly see the HUD projector space through the windshield on this picture, just zoom in: [IMG]
    and you'll see this:

Hope I made it clear now ;)

So... who knows what are the HUD features on the Prius 2010???

So there's LED headlights and moonroof!

Hmm, HUD? Maybe navigation direction? That'll be cool.

The director of U.S. marketing told me that the European models had HUD, but not those for the U.S. This confirms your information.
