i was driving and saw a prius today with a chrome wing on it and it didnt look half bad but because i was driving i couldn't snap a picture of it. i was wounderin if anyone had an extended wing or a spoiler put on their prius?
Hi bs..., The Prius was meticulously aerodynamically designed. It has very small coeficient of lift in the rear compared to other cars. And the coefficient of lift in the front is actually negative (down force is generated). So a wing is not neccassary. There is an issue with cross winds and the car darting around at speed. But that has been tracked down to chasis flex. And a BT Tech chasis stiffening plate will resolve that. So, its not aerodynamically related, like might be infered from such a low-drag design. If you want to play, I would recommend a VERY SMALL Gurnee flap at the rear of the existing spoiler. Maybe something like 1/4 of an inch. Oh, the Touring model has a longer stock spoiler. Its about 3/4 s of a inch longer. You can buy them from Sigma Automotive.
thanks donee. subarutoo, thanks i guess however i have looked into it more thru dealerships and they do have them. they simply redid the stock spoiler in carbon fiber but im going to look into a mid wing possibly such as i have on my sti.
