The article refers to a 50% market share years ago. A recent article in Wash. Post stated present market share for GM is 22.5%. GM is heading for extinction. The other two arn't much better. Can you say hemi? They're both are coming out with 400 hp engines.
NASCAR is becoming more popular because a certain type longs to see *somebody* burning lots of gas in a noisy big-nice person car even though they themselves can't afford to do it. As years pass NASCAR crowds will consist mostly of old farts and their grandkids; NASCAR will become the 21st Century equivalent of a steam tractor show.
