Hello, this is a great forum....everytime I visit this place I get more excited about purchasing my new Prius. I have been getting quotes from a few dealers and the best one so far is $23.500 for a 2008 package2. This includes everything but tax and plates. I live in NY state so tax will be around $2000.
I am still waiting for one more quote. So lets see which one's lower.

If you're in one of the snowier sections of western NY, you might want to think about getting a new set of tires for your vehicle. There are plenty of threads with advice about tires. Many owners believe that the tires you get with the vehicle do not perform very well in inclement weather. I'd advise you to look over some of these threads on the site.

    Happy motoring...I love my Prius.

Its a tough call. In my opinion when the '10s arrive there will be lines and shortages and they will cost more than the deals you can get right now. Consequently I decided to go ahead on a '08 Certified Pre-Own package 4 w/10k miles for $20,800. We've known for quite a while that we wanted a second Prius, based on how much we love our first, and I just don't see the deals getting much lower anytime soon. There will always be something better on the horizon, no matter when you decide to buy. Of course I could be dead wrong, and prices could drop next week when the '10 is unveiled

    Good Luck and Welcome!

Well I have made up my mind. I am not going to get carried away thinking about 2010. I have decided to go for a 2009. Though late last night I was considering a day trip to Detroit and at least taking a peak at the 2010 ;)
I have been asking about 2008's at local dealers, but they seem to be all sold out. So still waiting for one more quote.

Hi everyone, just finalized a deal for a 2009 package 2 prius (including floor mats) for $22850 (not including tax+tags+registration). Tax is gonna kill me cause I am from NY state. I should be getting the car by the end of the month.
will post pictures. I am so...happy!!! Oh by the way, I did the deal through emails..still need to visit the dealership.

Hello Sachminu.......I'm like you......waiting for detailing on my new Prius...'09 Package 3. Should be able to do the deal this weekend. Also I did my deal on the internet....much easier and no pressure. Like you, I will post my Prius picture when I finally bring "my baby" home this weekend. Good luck!!

I'm not sure of the availability around the country but here in Northern California dealers are offering some great prices. One of our local dealers is offering the 2009 Package 6 for $24,844 . Window sticker is $ 28,913 and they're even offering 3.9 APR for 66 months with it. I'm on the waiting list for the 2010 but the 2009 is pretty tempting.

Yep, they are hungry for buyers:D
My local dealer has/had about 20 or more on the lot in early Dec but the deals were just not that great, although they were dealing.
    I stumbled on a slightly use 08 with 7.5k at $18.4k :D
