Need Help Finding Extra Plastic Hubcap Trim Rings For 2008 Prius! My wife keeps grinding the edges of the plastic hubcaps whenever she parallel parks! Not the center of the hubcap but the edges (trim rings) of them. It looks like it's a separate plastic part that snaps in around the actual cap. I would like to order a couple of the plastic trim rings that go around the aluminum hubcaps if it's possible to find them. I don't know what this part is called but it looks like it snaps in place around the hubcap itself. I hope they're not horribly expensive! Thank you PC!
I lost one of mine the second day I drove the car (when the alignment hadn't straightened out yet). I found a replacement online somewhere (can't remember where now), and it was like $35 plus shipping. If you're not planning to add mooncaps to your car, you might as well take them all off and use that money on something more useful like a purse tray or dashmat. And the car looks better without them too (according to a non-scientific survey of PC members).
If Grocked removes the plastic trim rings then his wife will just start grinding the aluminum wheel rim edges when she parks. Until she learns how to drive without using "the Braille method" there's something to be said for keeping the rings in place. 2004 - 2006 trim rings cost $35 from Champion Toyota - Houston (MSRP of $47): Champion ToyotaWorld However I notice that site does not show trim ring pricing for the more recent model years, not sure why there is a difference.
Do you still have that set of hub-caps for $55 shipped? Are they OEM`s? If so,please call me directly: (415)-240-7253 (victor)
almost every prius in new england takes those rings off, salt will get caught and eat your rims away, your best off to just take them off and throw them away
Try car-part.com. I checked in California and didn't find any but they will show up sooner or later as people wreck the cars. You may want to look for 2010 Prius's and call if you find a yard with one and see if they have the hubcaps. I found a yard in Jacksonville NC that is selling the 2010 15" alloys for $175 each.
+1 Sorry ... we threw ours away back in '04 ... or I'd have given 'em away. Didn't really know any one would want 'em.
A couple of things: 1. The OP's original post was in December 2008. 2. The OP and/or his original post are confused. The OP's avatar says that he has a Touring Edition. This means that his wheel covers are full wheel covers. They are not trim rings. Nor are they separated into trim ring outers and hubcap centers as his original post suggests.

I have those. They're chrome plated full wheel covers for the Gen II Prius' 15 inch wheel (not the OP's Touring 16 inch wheel). Sometimes they're called Chrome "Wheelskins" or "Imposters". Here are some pics. I think they look good in the pics, but in person they look fantastic: [IMGLINK]http://priuschat.com/forums/attachments/gen-ii-prius-main-forum/14121d1239917381-chrome-wheel-skins-dsc00225.jpg[/IMGLINK] [IMGLINK]http://priuschat.com/forums/members/boo-albums-prius-picture1701-sunroof-chrome-wheel-skins.jpg[/IMGLINK] [IMGLINK]http://priuschat.com/forums/attachments/gen-ii-prius-main-forum/16475d1247144536-chrome-wheel-skins-chromeskins1.jpg[/IMGLINK]

I have to dissent with those who say "take them off" - true, it's more practical, but to me, the wheels look less finished. It's akin to having shoes on, but the laces untied - not my style. To each his/her own. The wheel cover is scraping issue is even worse on the 16" rims, but the wheels beneath just do not agree w/me and I cannot bear to take off my (scraped) covers. Re: Need Help Finding Extra Plastic Hubcap Trim Rings For 2008 Prius! I have 4 hubcaps for sale on Craigslist. They're from our 2010 Prius. We bought new rims & tires for it. I'm in Mission Viejo if you're interested in new ones.
