My JBL right hand front woofer has broken, it's sounds distorted and then you can hear what sounds like a modem loging on very faintly and when you press any key on the screen you can hear it change sounds, i took it in to toyota and they said they need to pull the whole dashboard out and it would take atleast 8 hours to pull it apart, then another 8 to put it back together, i thought it might just be the amp, but they think it's the wireing loom, im just not happy about them pulling the whole dash out, does this sound right?

I would suspect the amp myself. If they were smart, they could hook up a test speaker to the front woofer output and see if they get the same problem. If so, it is not the wiring from the amp to the woofer. It would be a whole lot easier for them to pull the amp from under the seat than to follow the entire wiring harness from door to dash to amp only to find it was the amp all along.

The speakers are all connected straight to the amp. The rear tweeters are connected inline to the rear woofers through a capacitor for crossover, but that's the only multi-connection with the speakers.
The amp receives commands from the header (and MFD) for the volume, EQ, balance and fade, as well as to produce those beeps. The header sends an analog fixed level L&R signal to the amp for the amp to process. If it were a problem with the header, all speakers would have been affected one way or another.

So, I am betting on the amp.

from the codes you showed me, 01-e1 and 01-e3, the description suggests the amp though the diagnostice flow suggests the MFD or the header.

Front passenger woofer is connected via light green and light blue wires, pins 9 and 20 on S14. S14 is the big connector.
