Thanks to the help of this forum and its members, for which I am very grateful, we have updated repair rate results for the 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Prius. In all cases the reported repair rate is much better than the average. However, the 2004 is higher than the others, probably because it was the first model year. And, of course, those cars are older. At some point they'll start requiring more attention. How soon? Time will tell. With prompt quarterly updates, this survey will track the cars closely as they age. It's been three months, so the Vehicle Reliability Survey results for the Toyota Prius have been updated again. Repair rates, in terms of successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year: 2004: 36, better than average, but higher than other years--starting to increase? 2005: 6, much better than average 2006: 12, much better than average 2007: 16, much better than average 2008: 5, much better than average Excellent participation by Prius owners. That said, more would be even better. We especially need 2009s, to also include the current year. For the full set of results, and to sign up to help: TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results
