In the center console slot I keep my business cards, AAA card, costco card, etc. I also clip my emergency knife-rescue tool on this lip. In my lower console drawer I keep my GPS-PDA. It fits perfect and no one except the thousands reading this thread know it's there. Sooooooo has everyone seen the small side storage bins next to the spare tire storage?
have you tried and see if the PDA fits in the front centre cubby hole inside the centre console? It's the one above the power outlet
Hi All, I keep the hard case for my sunglasses down there along with a clump of paper towels for emergency use. I have change in the small tray in the center console and some business cards from my dealer as well as the valet cards in the bottom of the center console. Incidentally, I found that if I plugged my cellphone charger (Motorola) in the outlet in the center console and threaded the cord up and out the LHS just in front of the black console well insert it fits fine and the console closes without any problems. The cord is pretty thick so I was a bit surprised. Also, I keep my cellphone on the charger whenever I am in my car and the phone lives in the very front cupholder. As for the cubby in the back area on the LHS, it holds my Toyota issued first aid kit and a canister of windshild cleaning wipes. I keep baby wipes for mopping up messy (usually small) people before they get into my beloved, in the big well above the spare tire. This car truly is a Chinese...no, scratch that... JAPANESE Puzzle box! Oh, and Tony, that slot with the green lights near it will hold two packs of gum to prevent an emergency bubble blowing incident. BTW, does your car seem to get all excited and just "light up" when it sees you coming? Mine even beeps in greeting at the mearest touch of my hand. LOL Take care, Tisza
I recently found that the slottish spot above the power outlet in the center console fits my Palm Vx with hard case perfectly. Almost as if it were designed for it.
it's a good place to keep your bluetooth cell phone, with the outlet below to keep it charged. Any good uses for the console tray (besides valet tags) I've also popped of the shelf in the upper glove box accidentally. It may be useful knowledge for someone who needs more height there.
that's a rather large coin box then. Yeah, I found that my V3 fits in that slot. Sweet. Honestly, this car can customise to your storage needs
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NHPrius\";p=\"77323)</div> There are actually two hidden compartments back there. The big one that you have to lift out to get to the spare, and the little one in the nook on the left. In there you should find the tie-down straps to use in case you ever have to transport a tire in the "trunk" area.
Just out of curiosity. If your cargo area is full, then where the heck do you put the tyre? I know someone who had a flat and was somehow able to store it underneath. Does that mean I'll have to deflate the tyre enough so that it'll fit?
I pulled the drawer out, put a piece of glass in the bottom of it with double stick tape, and mounted the suction cup for my Sirius radio to the bottom of the drawer. It works perfectly, is right next to the electric socket, and affords a perfect view of the radio!
Not sure if your cargo space is full, but I was given a set of tie down straps with the car for the flat tire to secure it in my cargo area. I finally got around to looking at the back cargo area and never noticed that storage area that was talked about before. Pretty neat. I also learned our battery is behind the right tail light in the back, but we still jump it from the front.
I use the drawer as a small trash bin for reciepts etc. I use the tiny spot in the console to hold the valet cards. The tray in the console I use to hold my house keys, nail clipers, hair brush, etc. The lower section, I have my square tissue box, ice scrapper, and lens cleaner.
well ya but then if the cargo area is full, then the tyre has to go somewhere. Weird, the towing guy INSISTED on direct access to the battery so I Had to remove my stuff, cargo net, cargo mat, fold the seats down, open the hatch from inside, remove the false floor only to have him rip the side cover off the 12V battery to boost it.
I keep a disposable camera in the bottom drawer. I've gotten into the habit of having one in any car I own, to be able to document situations if ever there is an accident (toc-toc-toc, knock on wood that I won't have to use it). One of those $10 cameras (with flash). Once a year, I replace the camera with a new one as the film goes bad after sitting in a hot car for months. I also keep a small set of binoculars in there (for birding).
You should have shown him the manual. It specifically states to jump from the front terminal. It might have some protective measures in between the terminal and battery to prevent any mishaps.
I was looking through the manual cause i know I've read about jump starting it from the front but that guy was stubborn and I think he knew it was a Prius and didn't want to do anything 'different' that might screw up... something.
lol I think they put the terminal up front to appease those who are used to the battery being up front to jump start the car.
and to make it easier on yourself by lifting a hood rather than doing what I did. Try releasing the hatch from the inside, it'll take you a while
I haven't had to do it on the Prius, but once I accidentally locked my friend's wheelchair in my trunk. I had been playing with the trunk release defeat and had left it on, so I could not open the trunk from inside the car, and the lock itself didn't work (I think it had been changed). We had to drag the wheelchair at least partially out from the back seat (thank God for fold down seats!), then I could crawl in and open the latch from the inside.
