Video: BBC NEWS | Technology | Electric Mini 'with 150 mile range' Mini E designer Patrick Fuller demonstrates the car that engineers say can travel 150 miles before its battery needs to be recharged. BMW is setting up a pilot project in the US which will be extended to Europe. Shame it's only a 2 seater...
and the lease for the trial is $850 per month. I was going to sign up that is too much to pay for a car you are testing for them!
Nice! These Minis are nice cars, and every electric car that makes it to market is another step in the right direction. The LiIon battery in this Mini is supposed to weigh 260 kg - no back seat - to increase the kWh available. Hopefully improved battery technology like this can give us increased range with less weight in the near future. I'm pretty sure my next car will be electric (and I have 10 years left in my Prius for the technology to be tested!)
