Is there any company who is developing a direct (pin for pin at least on inputs - LAN) replacement for the JBL/Prius amplifier. Hearing that more and more companies are going to the LAN interface, can we expect to see these soon. The new Hybrid LEXUS uses a 8 speaker system as standard. Is there any chance that this amp could be used in place of the JBL (GPS) amp and if so, would it be any better. I would like to upgrade the compete system without loosing any features but this currently seems too difficult. Does anyone have a view into any future products that could be used such as speakers of the correct impedance and better amplifiers?
There's a good chance a Lexus amp would work, especially if it has an MFD. Hopefully it will be a better amp. Amp reqirements: R&L fixed line level inputs, must control volume, balance, fade and EQ at the amp via AVC control. At least 4 speaker output, as external crossovers could be used.
omg.....I'm not at all impressed with the JBL.......but i'm also not a audio techy.... What will Improve this system? Can I get a little direction........is it merely a speaker upgrade and what brand to get..... I've got a hard-drive full of mp3's........is there a hard-drive/USB interface that we can incorp into the P* stereo? Thanks!
I would totally be interested in an amp that did not have and/or corrected the dynamic range and digital artifact problems of the JBL "Premium" system.
