I just purchased a used 2008 Prius with a little over 20K on it. I purchased it certified from a Toyota dealer. BUT......I don't know what package it is! The car is not the touring version (I am fairly sure). It has the 9-speaker JBL CD changer, but does not have heater wing-mirrors (I don't think it does). It does not have navigation, although it is bluetooth equipped. Is there any way of working out which package I actually purchased, as it seems to be more than just the base model. Thanks
Hi AJ, Welcome to PriusChat. You can start by looking at the 2008 Prius eBrochure which describes and lists all the standard equipment and the Option Packages: http://www.toyotacertified.com/ebrochures/08_prius.pdf Also, check out rigormortis' method:
Great, I either have package 3 or 4. My car does have built-in fog lamps, but they are not part of the main headlight unit - they're positioned lower to the road and are separate lights built into the bodywork. Maybe this is integrated? The on-off switch for the foglamps is on the same controller for the regular lights. I also think I may have HID lights. Do they appear to have a bluish tint? Thanks.
AJ, If you have fog lights you have HID headlights. As for the heated mirrors, they come on when the rear window defogger button is pressed. There is no separate switch or indicator for the mirrors.
AJ, it sure sounds like you got Package #4: Package #4 *Smart Key System [1] *Backup camera [7] *Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) [11] *Anti-theft system *Auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink® [6] universal transceiver *JBL® AM/FM 6-disc in-dash CD changer with nine speakers in seven locations, *auxiliary audio jack, MP3/WMA playback capability and satellite radio capability [2] *Hands-free phone capability via Bluetooth® [3] wireless technology *High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps *Integrated fog lamps
I too am a newbe of the Prius family. I bought a used 07 touring model. The owner said it was a pkg 5 but when I went to pick it up there was no navigation, so I knew that was wrong. I took the vin number into our local Toyota dealer and they printed out a sheet that told me exactally what was on my car and what model and price it was at purchase time. A great piece of info.
Thanks, I am pretty sure that I have package #4. So far, I am very, very pleased, especially with 56mpg! AJ
