That sounds like you got a really good deal inuyasha. You even paid under invoice. Do they have a lot of Package 2's on the lot at Piercey??
They have a few #2 in stock. This is a buyer's market right now and they have lots of Prius' in stock.
$23,100 (incl destination) + $55 dealer doc fee + $1910.29 tax + $28 DMV electronic fee + $205 + $8.75 DMV license fees = $25,307.04 out the door. Magnetic gray color. ouch. What a great deal! I wish I had known that others could get such pricing -- I wouldn't have fallen for the salesmen's "this is making my kids go hungry" act. But hopefully $23,100 isn't so bad either...
That's a pretty good price. Went to costco today and pumped $16.68 for 9.1g. Wow!! The last time I pumped a full tank of gas under twenty bucks was on my crx 15 years ago.

Don't wait for a 2010 get a great deal on an 09 now while toyota is making deals.
Supernova - I think you got a great deal...I bought my 2008 package #2 last September for $23k (minus the taxes and warranty). I'm in Long Beach, just south of you...my sales guy was sweating the whole transaction and acted like it was the end of the world.
$24,100 out the door. Package 2 with tinted windows, mud flaps, car mats. Bought in Atlanta and shipped it for $400 to me in Arkansas.
Got my '09 Touring Package #6 this Monday for $28,500 out the door. I bought it at Toyota of Huntington Beach. Good dealer.
Hello; My situation is similar. I'm in SF, and have a quote for a red 2009 Pkg #2 at $22,750, not including taxes and registration. So possibly we are two points along the demand curve. Three questions I have: 1. I 'feel' that I can do better, re: the large volume sitting in LA Port, plus on the retail lots at $50/month cost to retailer, 2010 about to be introduced by Toyota, etc. Would you wait or just move forward? 2. I am wondering about the marginal value of package 3. Anyone feel that the extra cost is worth it? 3. What recommended plug-in types / vendors would you advise? Best Regards, Ribbon
I've seen dealers with 20+ Priuses on their lots. In a month, Toyota is going to announce the 2010s, and the 09s will still be there. Prius sales dropped more than any other car model in the US - 46%, and gas will likely be south of $1.50 in the coming weeks. I think if you're not otd for a new #2 (and I mean everything) for 24k or less, you're paying too much. Now's the time to push dealers really really hard. I probably would start at 23k otd, go to 23.5, and then walk out the door, giving the salesperson my number. Couple more weeks, and my phone would ring.
I paid a little north of $24K out the door here in LA for a package 2. Every deal said it wasn't possible but I paid $22,085 plus taxes, license, registration and got the floor mats, medical kit and cargo trunk/net thing included.
Prices are back to the level of Feb. 2007. Carl. PS watch gas prices and Prius prices increase after this recession--IF it ever ends.
Some Offers on a Package #2 (with mats) These are out-the-door prices for Connecticut (which doesn't charge sales tax on 40+ mpg vehicles). 1) 23950 + three oil changes (local dealership) 2) 23700 (no oils changes, and dealership is 60 miles away) 3) 23944 I'm thinking option #1 is pretty good, even though #2 wants to move a little lower. What do you think? I think otd (everything) under 24k is pretty good, but I wonder if I can't do better.
