The front headlight on the passenger side of my 2005 prius just went out. It's just a regular light, no HID or anything like that. How much is it to replace? Would it be covered under my Platinum warranty? I noticed upon searching the boards that HID lights can go up to $400, but haven't seen anything regarding a regular bulb replacement. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
The Platinum warranty does not cover any bulbs. You've got halogen headlights and the bulbs are cheap. I suggest that you replace both of them at the same time. You can do it yourself.
Directions should be in your Owner's Manual I believe. You can also find the instructions here http://priuschat.com/forums/knowled...38842-how-change-headlamp-headlight-bulb.html.
I never tried doing this because I do a lot of work in my sound system. Maybe I'll wait a little longer for you to finish first.
My passenger headlight also just went out on our 2005 Prius. The bulb was $48.00; we paid the repair people $10.00 to fix it. (Coming from the land of $5.00 bulbs, this was a shock, until I saw the price tag on the HID!)
