Top Car Video Picks: Monday, November 3 I admit it. There's no car I enjoy seeing wrecked more than the Toyota Prius. When I see a Prius crunched up on the back of a flatbed, I feel as if the world is a slightly more just place. If I see a Prius flipped over on its lid, I feel as if the laws of physics are working in my favor. Look, I don't want anyone to get hurt — not even Prius owners or their passengers. But if cars are gonna get wrecked, let those cars be Priuses. So these four videos are just sort of, well, soothing for me. They're all various crash tests of the Prius run by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and other private and government agencies. All four of them are just plain pleasant. The only disappointing thing is that in none of them does the Prius throw off electricity as giant bolts of lightning. I'm all for crash testing every Prius. Just a tad bit annoying and wondering why the negative feelings? Jealousy possibly?
I don't know, but for some reason Edmunds is very negative about the Prius. This not the only negative thing I have seen from them, just the most blatent. I have lost a lot of my respect for their opinions as a result. I use Edmunds to research car pricing, but I don't pay a lot of attention to their car reviews.
those are old crash tests, we want new crash tests. they include side air bags now. it used to be an option before skip all of it, and just watch the wheelie video. that was bad nice person
Every car has its haters....but maybe seeing something rare (like the Prius) got wrecked is more enjoyable than seeing daily car like Camry does the same instead. Besides, those are just Crash-Test videos of Prius and most of the other cars have their own tests too......isn't it nice to see how the Prius held up after crash?
Prius rare??? You've got to be kidding. Apparently you've never been to SoCal. The Prius seems to be the most common vehicle out there.
No kidding. Prius is a rare breed in my area....And yea, I've never been in SoCal. Seeing the Prius condensed in one region doesn't mean it's popular national-wide yet. I think Camry is still the Most-Selling vehicles in the States.....
I actually had someone on Tuesday ask me if i felt dumb buying a Prius back in March now that gas is 2.49 out here. I said look, 360 miles, $15....still comin out on top:rockon:
You must be the King of the subtleness because I am trying to figure out your point. It's ok, I am here along for your ride on this thread. I just thought the Prius cabin was intact and not engulfed in flames when the cute little Prius was smacked by the big bad SUV, or vice versa. I thought the little Prius did just fine, but am I missing something? And if you enjoy one less Prius inhabiting the world why are you searching for another? Like your Package 2, BTW.
Something similar happened in February 2007. I simply answered, "Well I'm getting a lifetime average of over 52 MPG." Now I would add, "I suppose we have different standards of stupidity. What is your mileage?" Bob Wilson
