We got a call from our salesman last week that our car is expected to arrive around the 3rd week in November. No VIN, so I'm trying not to be TOO hopeful, but at least maybe the end of waiting is near. :cheer2: We had put our names on the list July 25th, a week after our Rubi was totaled.
Well it looks like I can see some light at the end of the tunnel! Got a phone call this morning and was told that my Touring, Package 6 is being delivered to the dealer on November 11th! No Vin number yet. I'll keep you informed.
Well, that was posted on the 17th, I stopped in to the dealer, Oct 23 and he showed me how it was being built on Oct. 27th and it was bout a 3 week shipping delay after that. Amazingly the 28th they called and said my Blue Mica Package 2 had just arrived that morning???? ( I guess they shipped it 'Express Mail', next day delivery .) Well we picked it up last night and could not be happier :cheer2:! Believe me the wait was worth it. And to think I get to drive it at least a week or more till the next snow comes!! Now all the research and info I recieved I get to put to use. Thank-you all for the great help and will post more after I go play with my new toy!!!! Off the list Finally, Tanner

I went to a dealer made the deal and sat down to wait 3 months only to have one show up in six weeks by surprise. The dealer tried to pull a fast one by re-evaluating my trade-in for 1/4 of the value it had six weeks ago so I walked thinking, "Now I really will have to wait the 3 months". Went to a new dealer and surprise again! one came in in two weeks. You just never know.
Wow....put on 1,300 miles in 2 weeks. And to think I only normally drive about 10,000 miles a year. Warning to all of you waiting....this car is addictive!!! One other note....for anyone thinking of getting the body side molding to protect your Prius from other ignorant drivers......do it!! I ordered the ones from this website. They arrived in a couple of days and looked top notch. I had my local bodyshop install them for $50 and they look like they came from the factory.
I ordered a 2009 package 2 (Magnetic Gray Metallic) on 9/26/08. The dealer said it would be a 6 month wait. There are 38 ahead of me on the waiting list. I am hoping that some of those 38 drop out so that I can get mine a little sooner. UPDATE: I just a call from the dealer and my Prius may be allocated within the next 3 weeks. That is way earlier than they had predicted. He said that many of the Prius buyers are backing out of their orders for primarily two reason. 1) Gas prices are much cheaper and 2) They cannot qualify for credit to make the purchase.
Doc, Yep it sure is. =) Named after a shuttle on Deep Space 9. Rubicon was totaled in July... we haven't named the new one yet, though we'd thought about naming it Rubitwo or long form, Rubicon 2. We're still trying to decide, have any suggestions? And.. we got it last night! WHOOHOO!!! =D
Wow! What a difference 2 1/2 months makes - this mornings paper, automotive section, Toyota Sunnyvale - 87 Prius in stock. Over $1k discount ad'd for a package #6 I haven't seen an ad like this since April.
I am no longer NUMBER 1! My new Prius Touring, Package 6, Black, is in the driveway! One week shy of having a seven (7) month wait. It would appear that the shortage of Prius and the length of people on the waiting list is a thing of the past, for now! rcaine, Thanks for keeping the list going, even after you got your Prius.

I should be able to get it tomorrow!.
If anyone wants a 2008 Package #2 with 3,000 miles I have one for sale. I came to the conclusion it's just not for me. Nothing wrong with the car just the owner. I ordered it 2 hours after I was told I had cancer for the third time so the car just reminds me of the bad doctors, horrific hospital stay and evil "friends". I live in Missoula MT. I think if I would of bought it now I would love it but now it's just a reminder of a really bad time. Let me know. It's red with bisque interior.
Not waitlist in the Northern Virginia area. I walked on the lot and off with a 2009 package 6. They had 12 of them - at least 3 with 5 or 6. Guess my timing was just lucky.
Is there still a waitlist for the Prius?? I think the demand has slowed since gas prices (here) are around $1.83/gallon !!!!
While droping off our new car to get the leather put in, I spied the Pri they had in the parkinglot.. Holy crap I counted at least 15 sitting there all in one big long row. I dont know if those cars have been spoken for or not, but I doubt it, who would let their babies sit there in the parking lot like that waiting if they had been on the waiting list for months??? I was on the list for 4 months, but of course, I was really specific on what I wanted. If someone who isnt wants a Pri and dosent care what color or package it is, now is proabbly a good time to try and get a good deal Gas in McKinney TX was $1.55 this morning.
Holy crap, Mossy Toyota in San Diego has 96 Prius in stock. You can have any color and package combinations you want. Toyota Clairemont, La Jolla, San Diego | Camry, Corolla, Prius, Hybrid, Tundra, Tacoma, 4 Runner
Even though gas prices are low, I still love my new Prius. I'm getting almost twice the mileage I got on my 4 cyl Camry, and that works for me no matter what the price of gasoline! Now I just need to sell the Camry
I just ordered my Prius last week.... in Silver Pine Mica. Dealer said it will take a couple of months to bring it in. Not any on the lot, but Saskatchewan has not received the full brunt of the recession.
