I just got sticker from Toyota. It's as ugly as sin and says "Prius / Motor Trend / 2004 Car of the Year." (All caps) The accompanying letter invites me to paste the ugly thing on my car, and the photo shows it on the lower section of the rear window. It's really cool that Motor Trend recognized the Prius with this award, but if Toyota had to give out a sticker boasting about it, they didn't have to make it so confounded ugly. Anyway, there's no way I'm putting any stickers of any sort on my new Prius! The letter said they're going to begin shipping Prius to the dealers with the sticker. It didn't say if the sticker would be affixed, or just included with the paperwork so you can throw it away if you like.
I agree it isn't that nice looking, wouldn't call it ugly myself, but it's certainly a subjective thing. What WOULD have been cool would be a plastic chrome-look adhesive thing with 2004-Motor Trend Car of the Year. Or even just a silver letter decal that could go in the window...something subtle that people would actually put on and leave on their car. My sticker won't be going on my car either.
I got one too and agree with all that was said above. I'm not putting mine on either. Would rather have had the keychain, or even better yet, a license plate holder that said it was car of the year. Oh well, I think at least Toyota is trying.
Ditto here. Something a bit more subtle may have been worthy as a window decal. This thing ukeright:, however, is going in the glove box with the rest of the paperwork for the car.
picked up my car a month ago with the sticker allready in place. i was surprised to get the letter from toyota with yet another sticker. i didn't realize it wasn't standard. anyway, i left the sticker on my car. i like it. it shows off the sassy car which is fine by me.
OK, I didn't have a choice; got mine with the sticker already installed. It's OK for now... But has anyone sucessfully taken the Motortrend decal OFF? I'm just wondering if it will get harder to take off as it weathers. I got the keychain in the mail and made the mistake of taking the leftover sticky stuff off with fingernail polish remover. It also took off the milky white background behind "HYBRID SYNERGY DRIVE". Oh well, at least it's not sticky!
That was removed from my car the 1st weekend I had it. Came from the dealer with it on the window (at least they do not put them on the paint). When I took my car to get the rear windows tinted, we had those guys remove it for us. The only decal that is permitted on the outside of my car is the small one that my job requires.
I put my sticker on a file cabinet in my classroom. Looks good on it next to the magnets of Washington, Franklin, and Jefferson. Jeff
