I ordered white painted bumper plugs for $20 for license plate holes on my white Prius (I bought the car out of state, and my state doesn't require front license plates). They looked good, but unfortunately the paint started peeling off them and revealed the black plastic underneath. I thought about buying some plain ones and painting them myself, but figured paint must not stick very well to them. I looked for just plain white plugs, but couldn't find any at the local stores. I found some online, and hoped they wouldn't look too bad. Actually, they looked better! They were slightly smaller and fit a lot more flush with the bumper than the painted ones. They are slightly opaque, and if you look VERY closely you can see a shadow where the holes are. Otherwise, they look like they were made for the car. Anyway, they came in a bag of 100! If anyone would like a pair, just PM me and I'll send you some. I'm not worried about the cost -- the whole bag cost just $8.00. They fit 1/4" holes, are 3/4" in diameter and are 3/4" long.
Suggestion.... visit a local hobby shop and pick up a small bottle of white plastic paint. Should do the trick.
Rickie, that's very genereous of you. Priapus is tideland and I need the front plate. But for sharing and looking out for others, I'm going to give you 20 points to help pay for postage.
Why, points are those things you collect. And of course the more you collect, the higher your point count. Seriously though, Danny sits up late at night and manufactures points for everyone. When you start a thread, he grants you two points. When you respond to a thread, he gives you one point. If you go to the PriusChat store, you can't use points to buy anything. But if you shop on e-Bay, they're worthless there also. In a Toniocentric universe (I'm working out the details), true sainthood would be determined as a ratio of your post count to your point count. If you have many posts but few points, you are generous. Likewise, if you have few posts but many points, you have deserved the ones given to you by other users. By the way, you can donate points to people using the "Donate" link under their avatar or via their profile. In the end, the points you have are yours to use as you see fit. Outside of this forum, they mean nothing. Some would argue that even within the confines of this forum they mean nothing.
Bumper Plugs Rickie, Do you think I could paint them a different color than white? I have the same issue and have been trying to figure out how to cover up the holes. I was thinking about having a front decal made!!!!
You could try painting them with matching touch-up paint for your car. I would lightly sand them first to dull the shiny surface to help the paint stick.
I pulled off my front plate holder today and the holes they drilled to receive the screws looked as if they drilled from the inside out. This left 2 large outward bumps......ugh!
Turned out the car didn't have the front plate or any holes. It does have 2 tiny little dimples, which I guess are to show them where to tap. Thanks, tho!
It would be great if you would send a couple. I hate seeing those holes in the bumper. Thanks much and will pm address. Gave you 5 points for helping us bumper plugless members!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(bshef\";p=\"76709)</div> Mine were the same -- the plugs covered them nicely.
