Does anyone know if it's possible or has anyone heard of anyone installing a screensaver onto the screen of their Prius? Y'know...much like a screensaver for a desktop/laptop computer. I'm not sure if it's really functional but I think it'd be interesting and fun to have your own, homemade screensaver on the screen while you're driving.
Without some deep, intricate knowledge of the software that makes the MFD tick, I'd say that's a bit of a pipe dream. Of course, I suppose you could use a Coastal ETech video adapter and feed video from a computer into it. Not quite a screensaver in the "comes on automatically" sense, but would give you the look you're going for.
I've got one. It's called a NAV. It changes all the time and it even tells me when I've stopped. (For those times when the defrost hasn't kicked in completely yet. I have to totally rely on the NAV alone to drive the car. Boy is that hard.)
Apple came out with the new Mac mini computer system. It's small enough to fit underneath the seat and definitely able to connect to the car's computer. I guess that would be an option. ...don't know if I want to go through that, though.
