gopher (now that's really dating myself re: search engines). There's only one thing Google doesn't have that Alta Vista has (or had -- haven't been there in years): the "NEAR" operator. I.e., would find a match if two words were within 8 words of one another. Very handy.
my name is Jim and I'm a PriusChat poster. ( Jim.) When I first came here from the "other Prius website," (probably the one Danny posted on), I wasn't spending much on my Prius habit. Then I bought a calendar. Then I posted pictures (had to get a camera). And of course I bought the car. So I figured it was time to cut back on my Prius spending. I bought much less gas and that was great. :mrgreen: Then I won a PriusChat anniversary door prize. Now I'm printing Prius fact sheets. They come in handy when some blonde guy gets a Prius business card stuck under my wiper, and I need the fact sheet to pry the card loose. And I'm thinking of sponsorships... will it ever end? (Hope not!) Add me to the fans of the NEAR search term. Dogpile is very useful for searching lyrics and hearing the song.
I will volunteer to sponsor Jim with his Prius addiction. Jim, we will have another meeting in the near future where you can sit and talk with other Prius addicts about these things and seek solice with the group. Or they might make it worse. Whatever.

What's amazing is how many of those groups I've spent time at, Bill -- www.treocentral.com (back when it was visorcentral.com) and tivocommunity.com. There are a lot of "gadgeteers" around here...

I was looking for information about leather upholstery for the Prius when the PriusChat popped up in Google. It was a welcome direction and I've visited at least once every day since I bought my car in Sugust.
I honestly can't remember how I found PriusChat, even though it was only several months ago. Sorry I can't be of more help!
I think I found it through google. If not I found it through other sites like greenhybrid.com priusonline.com or even some of the insight sites like insightcentral.com. I cant really remember its been a long time ago. In fact it been just over a year. Yeah!
I found it with a Google search within a few days of buying my Prius in mid-April. I had looked up the Prius on multiple general car websites like Edmunds and Cartalk several times after I saw my first Prius on the road in 2004, and was pretty sure I wanted one, and continued looking at hybrids periodically on those same sites. When I suddenly needed a car this spring, I was fortunate enough to find one to test drive at a dealer, and began a serious Prius-hunt, and drove mine home less than a week later.
I learned of PRIUSCHAT from one of the many people that I stopped to question as they were getting into, or out of, Priuses in parking lots. I think this fellow was here in Columbus, GA.....thanks, if you read this, but I also stopped many, many folks in Tacoma, WA last summer so thanks to all of you also, for your willingness to talk with a strange lady about your car.
I voted for "Other Website," beacause there was no "From a Prius Chat Troll on another website" option. :lol:
