When pressed open, the roof opens up and everyone in the car gets ejected from their seats with parachutes.

OK, one more try. It's the button to operate the sliding door in the new Prius minivan.

    There! :)

Solar - Powered Moon Roof? There are 3 more "Sneak Peeks" over in your photo section of the 2010 Prius - been there since last night. Nobody's commented so I guess it's not that interesting!

What about 120VAC outlet so the Prius can be used as a generator?

Switch appears defaulting to OPEN position. I think this is for either: 1. electro-rear window shade. 2. solar panel

In which case there'd be no need to have a Close option, would there??? :) Lovely avatar, BTW. All kidding aside, seems to me the switch is meant to be held down during either operation. Don't you think?

It's obviously for the escape hatch!
(The kitchen sink was also missing in the Gen2 Prius, I'm glad Toyota has been listening to us...)

    :D

The switch is to Open or Close all the cup holder covers.

Ok on a serious note, I think it could be for a drop down tables behind the front seats for the rear passengers. Similar to how the airplanes have the tables drop from the back of the seat in front of you.

Thanks spwolf - I'm not very good at this internet stuff. I couldn't find a way to post images on a thread - it took me half an hour to figure out how to upload in the photo section LOL. I have more images of the 2010 Prius if I can get them formatted correctly I'll post here. When I try to attach an image in this box it asks for a URL but they're on my computer so no URL. Maybe I have to upload to a pix site like Picasa or Photobucket?

how the heck did you get those images?

Hmm.. kinda looks like a Yaris in the front. If I ignore the grille, I like the rest of the car... the headlights, wheels... guess that Japanese magazine with the green Prius was right (they were quite close, esp. with the headlights). The interior "looks" cramped just because it looks more like an SUV/minivan dashboard design as opposed to the more open feel of the 1st two generations.

I do hope the yellow lights in the bumper are DRLs.

Score one for the little guy, Bossdowner!

If the powers-that-be had their way, they'd probably post like 20 of those tiny "sneak peek" photos over a period of 2 months and p!ss off everyone. Thanks so much for putting the pointless teasing with those tiny photos to an end! :D

That's Toyota's 'braille' system for driving at night. It's one of the minor details like all the redundencies in the SKS which show just how much engineering thought went into miniscule details. It's another of the 'delight' factors that increase the enjoyment of ownership.

    Nice pics..

For some reason I'd guess that Toyota is NOT at all pleased that these got out. Very nicely done.

The profile is very Celica-ish with a straight line from the front bumper to the top of the roof. Very very sleek.

In your 3rd pic it seems like they've added a sonar parking assist, that 'dimple' behind the lights. Do we get the self parking option here NA finally?

Good call Mr. Phish - it also may have something to do with the new lane departure assistance that will veer the car back into its designated lane wherever applicable. Only a theory of course...

I imagine someone at Toyota is not going to sleep well tonight - but really we're only less than 3 months away from the unveiling at the big show. And it's only 4 pix. Unless of course I can find those other ones laying around here somewhere.
