I'm from a family divided... My mom's a Cubs fan, my Uncle and cousins WSox....I'd love to see an all Chicago series.
The White Sox open on the road against the team with the best home record in baseball........I don't know..........
Didn't see the whole game just a couple of highlights. Man, the throw to the plate by JR!!!!! I'm not even a WS fan.
I'm predicting a Cubs/Angels World Series. I'll be rooting for the Cubs but I think the Angels will win it all. That being said, I'm a Red Sox fan so I hope I'm wrong altogether.
Well, it's currently the bottom of the 6th and if you missed it Dempster helped the Dodgers by walking seven men and giving up a grand slam. There's always next inning!
I'm just in shock. That was a painfully slow train wreck that just kept getting worse as time went on. It's a good thing the game ended. Let's see what the Big Z can do tonight. I certainly hope he doesn't get into his own head and wilt on the mound again.
If you can't decide between the Cubs & the White Sox, you could root for the Brewers - we need a little love too (it's been 26 years since our last post-season - Go CC !)
There have been a lot of people drawing correlations between this year and 100 years ago. There is a correlation, but not the one they were focusing on. 100 years ago, the Cubs won the World Series two years in a row. This year the Cubs will be swept in the post season two years in a row. This time, there is no black cat, no billy goat, no Bartman, no excuses. This time it's entirely the same ole boring non-superstitious losing games.
:cheer2:I'm not a Cub fan but it has been way too long, the Red Sox got out of their post season doldrums a few years ago so it time for the Cubs. GO CUBS!
Oh man, I recognize those 100 year old defensive mechanisms kicking in. I know that it's natural. That it's hard to survive otherwise. But you have to play the game. All nine innings. All twenty-seven outs. Coming back from two down has been done before.
How can the Cubs win the World Series when they can't even beat Manny and the Dodgers? Oh, yeah, they can't. Make that 101 years.
Don't get me wrong, Boo. I still have Oct 22 - 30 colored red and blue on my wall calendar with the Cubs logo on the 27th winning in 5. In fact, I was pressured to remove it. When I did it last month they went on their skid. My coworkers threatened to remove it to remove the alleged jinx.
