Thats a pretty smart looking car. Some probably do not like the look of it, but I do. It kind of looks like a tall Smart car.
I was curious so I did a few conversions. The site claims it cost about 2 euros for 100km of driving in energy consumption. Comes out to $2.77 for 62 miles of driving, giving it an equivalent mpg rating of 80.5 based on today's average price of gas around $3.60. Not too shabby.
Jay - you would need to know the fuel cost over there as that is no doubt what they are using. Generally, fuel in Europe costs more than twice what we pay, so you can probably double your number to 160 mpg or higher -
Is the cost of electricity double in Europe? The figures are based on the cost of recharging the battery. Either way it's pretty impressive.
The cost of unleaded in the OP's country (Netherlands) for Sept was about €1.63 a litre. If you assume that the €2.00 cost is correct (i.e. they didn't lie and it relates to elec cost in Netherlands), then €2.00 there is equivalent to purchasing 1.23 litres of gas for 100 kilomtres driven - pretty damn good !! For US equivalent, that is 191.2 mpg For UK equivalent, that is 229.7 mpg A bit ugly from the front, but I love the lift doors at the rear. Pretty nifty electric car and a decent range on electric too, much more than 40 miles in a Volt..... and it works too !
