My body side molding kit came with only 1 little stick of Pro-Bond adhesive promoter. I'd like to have more on hand before tackling this job. Are these found in retail stores? I haven't seen any at an auto parts store nor a Lowe's home improvement. Or will 1 stick last for a while? Is it a bad idea not to use the adhesive promoter? Says it may dull the paint. Thanks in advance.

I did a preliminary placement of the moldings to see which measurements I like. I found using a wooden batten as Rokeby mentioned, to be very helpful. I placed one bit of tape 14" up from bottom of front door, directly under rearview mirror. placed another tape marker 14 3/4" up from bottom of rear door. I selected a 1/4" thick by 2 1/4" by 8 feet long wooden molding for $6 from local home improvement store. I sighted it for flatness, laid it on floor. The 1/4" thickness lets it flex to fit the door, which is good, the 2 1/4" width makes the edge inflexible. Balanced the wooden piece on finger, marked center point. Placed top edge of wooden molding (batten) to top edges of tape markers front and rear, used 2" width duct tape in the middle to hold it. Duct taped very front and rear of wooden molding, removed tape in center Placed body side moldings on flat edge of wooden molding, hung them on with painters tape. Removed wooden molding and tape markers. --------------- All the above and didn't even actually stick the moldings on. How pathetic. No, really, I like using the wooden molding a lot. Much easier than trying to get tape straight on the door and hope to get the moldings on straight. A straight edge/shelf is great to have.
I could have used two packets since I was taking my time and trying to get the moldings right. I have never done anything like it in my life so I was nervous too.
