Waiting for Prius Touring

I made my deposit on April 21st for a Touring Package 6. I have been told all sorts of stories about why it is so difficult to get a Touring in New England. "They are shipped mostly to the West Coast". The most recent story is that "when the push came for production, Toyota decided to manufacture anything but Touring models, to meet the high demand for the Prius." In the mean time my dealer is being quoted in the newspapers that they are the largest Toyota Dealer in New England and can get a Hybrid car in three months!

I think I might have the record wait! How about it, anyone been waiting longer?

 

You got me by a moth, I ordered my white touring #3 on May 20th. I read in the Prius Waiting List Support group yesterday where a guy turned down the exact car I had ordered because it was the wrong color, needless to say I screamed! Anyhow I think we will all be glad we waited.

 

I've been waiting since June 16 for my Silver Touring Pkg 2. I'm ready to call and have my deposit returned

 

I'm right behind Sands and Garymon as the three Senior (longest) waiters on the Waiting List Support group. All three of us are waiting for a Touring. If I'm going to spend the money for my Prius I want the features of this model. I am getting very frustrated at the wait. We rented a Prius for our week long vacation in August when our car was not in. I'm driving to a meeting in October and we want to be in a new car for that trip rather than another rental. After the 9/18 allocation we are going to have to decide if we can take other than a touring or do we look at a non-hybrid Honda for 6 or 8 thousand less than the Prius. The guy that's second on my dealers waiting list is hoping I go for the Honda.

i got a call that there is a touring seaside pearl #3 that will be mine to drive away this week! will keep everyone updated, i think the supply of the elusive tourings is starting to loosen up.

 

I was just contacted today that my classic silver Touring edition Prius had arrived at the dealership. Been on the waiting list now for 3 1/2 months.
