= New Microsoft Image? http://www.youtube.com/v/uz6amk3P-hY&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&fs=1 Sure, it's a somewhat funny commercial, but it doesn't make me think anything better of Microsoft...
Thats certainly good to know... I was trying to post the embed script like i would on any of my websites... lol
Somehow, the Seinfeld gang were only funny on the TV show, but individually, they don't do anything for me -- J-L Dreyfuss has been thru 2 mediocre sitcoms. Jason Alexander still comes thru as George. Michael Richards? well, he wasn't so funny at the Laugh Factory. But, Terry Hatcher
I just saw the new commercial on TV and thought it was fairly lame... and long. Didn't find it funny at all... I'm also now sure what they're advertising... Bill Gates' pants? Or maybe his size 10 shoes?
It's slightly amusing. But it's a poor commercial as you can't really tell what they're selling. It doesn't come close to matching the Apple ads with Mac and PC.
Strange, but amusing. In a somewhat related story, I saw in a news article today that Apple's ubiquitous Ipod has sold 160 million units over the past 7 years. As such it is universally considered an overwhelming success. Meanwhile, Microsoft has sold 180 million copies of Vista in 19 months and it is considered a flop. Go figure.
The best explanation for the ad so far: AmericaWantsToKnow.com: Explaining the Seinfeld-Gates Microsoft ad Its a dick joke.
I THINK IT IS A SHOE CONNECTION. SEINFELD INCORPORATED IT ON HIS SHOW. MAYBE THE MICROSOFT VISTA PROGRAM IS SOMEHOW LINKED TO JERRY'S INTEREST IN SHOES OR MAYBE JERRY JUST LIKES PLAYING WITH BILL GATES FEET. I AM JUST GLAD I SWITCHED TO APPLE...AND I AGREE, IT IS SOMEHOW A DICK JOKE..IT HAS TO BE...HOW MANY TIMES HAS YOUR WINDOWS SYSTEM CRASHED AND YOU SAID 'WHAT A DICK!'
I saw it and thought it was kinda funny, but more dull. I think they did a good job by creating buzz for the commercial by making it confusing. I read that Microsoft is spending some 300 million on their ad campaign, and they are paying 10 million to Seinfeld. I would think for 300 million they could come up with a better concept for the ad.
I love the Apple computer. If Bill Gates pays anyone millions it should be the chubby quirky guy in the Apple commercials. He has brought more damage to Bill's Vista operating system than the millions of Virus hackers that target Windows on a daily basis.
That's 4 minutes of my life I'll never get back. And, still, what's the purpose of this ad? My guess is that it's to make Microsoft look like 'regular' people. Awful. No other word for it. Apple is just eating their lunch in advertising. PS: Love the old lady rolling out from under the car to tell them they have a 'blown head gasket'. How ummmm do you diagnose that from under the car?

Like the first, there are parts of the commercial i find funny... But at the same time, it does absolutely nothing to try to sell me a computer or Vista, or whatever. In fact, just last night i just reinstalled windows on my primary desktop (it was getting crapped up and slow). Did i use Vista? Nope, still XP! The sad part was when i had to use my Macbook to download the drivers Windows needed to function properly... Even the ethernet port wouldn't work without them! Then a real funny thing... I got the latest version of my video drivers, installed them and rebooted... only to have Windows tell me the drivers were made for a previous version of Windows! Installing SP2 (which was going to happen this weekend initially) solved the problem. Apparently Microsoft can't even recognize a standard timeline and versioning!
Well, the one thing they're doing is generating a lot of internet buzz, but I don't really see the point, either. Mac ads make me want to buy a Mac because they convince me Vista sucks and that Mac is cool and more and more capable. These ads make me talk abou the ads, but don't really do anything to convince me about how great Vista is. I mean, I actually have Vista, but even after all this time I have compatibility problems with my WiFi printer and other hardware/software sometimes.
