Dave, This dealer is on the COSTCO program, but that does not seem to matter. COSTCO has also taken the Prius off their auto buying program. Guess the huge demand and lack of leverage in a seller's market limits their influence. I will keep looking meanwhile. Thanks

I checked the Southeastern Region allocation this morning. It was a very small number of cars coming in. What I did see is the first of the 2009 appear on the list. I would assume everything from here in will be 2009's. Unfortunately mine is still not on the list. :(:(

Actually the allocation did not come out today. It will be tomorrow or Monday per my salesperson. That is just the old list from 2 weeks ago..so keep your fingers crossed . I will post it when it comes up.

Hmmm? Mine says 07/08 yet the window sticker clearly states 2008 model. VIN ends in xxxx17376. Curious to know what your VIN is. Maybe I have the last of the '08 and you have the first of the '09.

Picked mine up Aug 30. Saved $500 from an'09 but they got me with added $695 Starter Guard. :(

What I meant by "saved $500 from an '09" meant I paid '08 MSRP but to buy the car I had to agree to pay $695 for an item the dealer added worth $80. That's how they made extra money.

Well it looks like my prius is in. Just got a call from the dealer today. The car is on the lot, I've got the VIN. Now I'm just waiting on pins and needles for the financing to come thru. Should be hearing tomorrow on the financing. and if he calls back in the morning I'm going to see if I can get it that day. Otherwise I'll be getting it Saturday.

Wish me look that nothing goes wrong at this point. Really need a new car, mine is a 97 honda odyssy with over 220,000 miles on it.

Been on the wait list since June 12th. Not bad they said 4 to 6 months then. I gave my options as package #3 or #5 any color.

Getting Black (not really the color I wanted) package #5.

Wow! That was quick. Thanks for that reply. I tried to delete it but wasn't quick enough. It was my mistake. At had thought that you had first thought that you had bought a 2009, but later realized the sticker said 2008. I realized my mistake as soon as I had posted it and tried to delete it immediately, but wasn't quick enough. Sorry! :embarassed:

Hooray! I (believe) I will have my Prius tomorrow! This is what happened. I placed the order at Go Toyota in Denver on June 9. I was quoted 3 to 6 months, but probably much closer to 2 to 3 months. I progressed to 107 by July and to 59th mid August...Then I found out this weekend I had progressed to 54th! Some problem with the switch to the 09 or something to do with batteries! At any rate, I then looked on Craigslist, and a brand new listing appeared for a brand spanking new 08 package 6 at sticker price through a leasing company. I called my dealership, GO Toyota, and after a bit of negotiation, they realeased me from my contract! Their flexibility allowed me to get the car I needed now, as we sold my wife's car faster than we thought!
I am delighted and can't wait to sit on the driver's seat! After three months of reading all the posts in PC, I now feel like an "expert" on the car in theory, with no practical experience!

Hmm, sounds suspicious, too good to be true. Well, I hope the deal went thru for you. If so you would probably be one of the very few who hasnt paid over kbb or msrp on craigslist.

The new allocation seems to be out today. When I checked yesterday at the usual time they were not out. This morning a large allocation seems to be heading to the Southeastern region. The new cars coming in are now 2009's. Now just to frustrate me in my continuing wait when I access my dealers list I can get details on any of his 89 allocated base models, all 373 of his standards, but only one of the 81 reported touring models:frusty::confused::frusty::confused:. Since I'm second on the dealers waiting list one of those should be mine. I have a call in to my sales woman whose due in at noon.

Black is a nice color, just have to wash it fairly frequently. Saw one yesterday coming toward me. It actually looked bigger in black.

    IT'S HERE!!!!! :clap2:

16 weeks and I pick the mag grey up tomorrow at 10 AM.. Yes...the wait was a bit much and I was seriously starting to shop around.:brick:

The thing that took me until May to order was not the gas prices, but the fact I had a bad experience with the first contact at the dealership (and I didn't really need to get a car). The gas hog GMC Van I drive got me around just fine.....but the money I'm going to save in gas by not driving the GMC will just about pay for the car.

I ordered a pkg #3 with leather and will end up with a pkg#6....a bit more than I wanted to pay and with features I don't really need or want.

But let me tell you......I AM EXCITED!:) needless navigation system and blue tooth .....I might use you someday..... I guess.

I actually stopped by the dealer tonight (they were closed) and there she sits....:lock1: tight and gorgeous.... can't wait until the morning:car:

I haven't logged on in such a long time.....I didn't even realize I was a senior and then eventually got bumped to second place....

But as of tomorrow morning take me off this list! It's here!!!!!!!:D

I have one in the garage now !!!!

Not in my wildest dreams did I think getting a Prius would be this easy.

Just a few days back, I went on this forum to air my bad experience with a dealer who sat on my deposit for three months and then tried to sell me a Prius well over MSRP, saying he had to buy from other dealerships. The dealer was Route 22 Toyota, Hillside NJ. I politely declined, took my deposit back, and walked away. I was extremely dissappointed at the prospect of starting my wait all over again. I also wanted here, to warn others in my situation, about this dealer

I started my search anew on Wednesday. The first dealer I went to said they are not taking any orders for Prius as due to it's high demand and limited availability, they could not guarantee an eta. The dealer was frank, and took my details just in case there were any cancellations. The next dealer I went to, I hit jackpot ! The salesperson I met explained the same about supply. He said that if I was not picky about color and options he would try to find one for me. I agreed, and in a few minutes, he comes back with a vehicle inquiry reports for three Prius (is it Prii ) that were enroute to this dealership. Of these, I picked a silver pine mica pkg#3 and it even had a VIN on it.

While the salesperson and I agreed on a $500 deposit, his manager came back and wanted a higher commitment of $2000 from me, because of the high demand. They were both quite convincing and sounded sincere about the expected shipment. I paid the deposit. Thanks to the internet, I was able to verify at home some details in the vehicle inquiry report. I was able to see the vin# was assigned to this dealer and not a fleet allotment. I was able to see that the ship in the report was indeed a japanese car carrier that had docked in NJ a couple of days back, and the car was indeed on ground.

The next morning, Thursday, the salesperson called me and informed me that the car was delivered overnight, and I could come ane pick it up on Friday. He wanted a day to do routine dealer preps and paperwork. Yesterday evening, Friday, I signed all the paper work and drove home a proud owner of Prius Siver Pine Mica pkg#3 :) NADA over msrp of 22875 + 2440. I bought an additional dealership plan for $1280 that extends mechanical and electrical coverage to 7 years 100k miles. The plan also pays for oil changes, towing and free rental.

The dealership is DCH Brunswick Toyota, NJ and my very friendly salesperson is Julio Perez. Julio explaned later that as long as buyers are not particlar about options and trim, he is confident that they can get their Prius within two months. The dealer has very little control on what is allocated.

Thanks to Danny & co for this wonderful site resource, Dave & Joan and others in this Newbie forum, that helped me to be an informed buyer and now a proud Prius owner. Will wait for Hanna to pass by today and post a sunny picture of my Prius SPM.
Wishing other Newbies goodluck and godspeed !
