Anyone know how much product is out right now? I am # 780 on the reservation list and wonder how long it will really be...
I am #316 and I have been asking the same question on the Yahoo Hymotion group, also with no results. The Hymotion website is absolutely quiet, so I suspect they have not shipped a single non-prototype unit yet. Oh well, my home solar installation is a month late too. Hurts to be on the bleeding edge, doesn't it. Ron
Yes it does. However, I do know there are two guys on this forum that already have one. TheForce was number 0 (or first) to order one with an install in DC and then there is one other person on here with a post - I think he said his was 200. I just spoke to Erin at Hymotion. She said she cannot share how much product has shipped, but that my install is still on track for a December time frame. I placed my reservation in June. I can't believe I'm so excited for winter! I also asked about the website content and she said they will try to have an update on the Blog this month some time. Product info is static and she didn't expect any changes there right now.
They are shipping final product. Mine was completed on Friday and when I picked it up they had two more they were working on (easy to tell when the auto shop is a VW shop). Unfortunately I had no number as when I signed up there was an error with the site. They got my confirmation and manually put me in line. Full speed ahead it looks like. Hope you guys get them quickly
Yes, please do post info about your experience. Also, it is great to hear things are moving along in Inver Grove Heights. When did you place your reservation?
The Force has a lot of info, stats and pictures/video in his thread (search is your friend here). From the info he's posted, he is having a blast and it looks like the adventure has been very worth the cost, IMO. My install is still on track for late next month... I don't know what I can add to Jay's very detailed review but I'll definitely provide my $.02...
Personally I love it I get about 30-38 miles of battery assist before I go back to the normal Prius behavior. I don't hypermile although I do accelarate gently and try not to use the brakes. On trips of 30 miles or less I max out the display at 99.9mpg (Scanguage is on order). While city streets are best, I get that 99.9 on highway as well (my guess is hwy is 100 mpg city is 125mpg). My wife's employer lets her plug in at work (19 miles) so she has used it too. For long distance driving I wouldn't recommend it (unless you are really fanatical about saving gas at any price). Hope that helps
I got lucky and just happened to check the Hymotion site prior to the email announcement by a few hours. Looks like I was number 4 in Minneapolis, however the Mayor got in first so maybe I was really 3
Thank you for the reply. My reservation wasn't initiated until June, so hopefully they can keep on target with Dec. delivery...just wish someone would cancel and they would call me sooner.
Just got a call from Erin at A123. There might be an opportunity for me to have the install done sooner, perhaps within the next few weeks! She will call me back within a week or so with more infoeace: When I hear back I'll update y'all...
Cool - when did you make your reservation? Definitely keep us posted. I would welcome an opportunity to get in earlier - maybe a couple cancellations can bump us up in line.
Hello Max, I originally got on the Hymotion list the beginning of May - I talk about it in my "Who's taken the plunge?" thread in the modifications forum. I had a great conversation with Erin yesterday about timing regarding getting the modification done, but nothing is set in stone yet...I won't know until I hear back from her - when that happens I'll let you know. Till then it's been interesting reading about Jay's install - he's posted a lot of info in his review. Very cool I know its tough having wait - but at least we know we'll have a PHEV years before they become regularly available to consumers (around 2011 according to many posts I've read here).:nod::nod: Next I want my 250-mile range EV and 1000-mile range flying car!lane:
Wow - me too. I have discussed with my wife about not buying another gas based vehicle, but I suppose we need options first - or maybe we'll be driving our 2001 Accord for a long time (still runs great).
