Ordered the engine block heater from Prius shop. What arrived looks different than what's pictured in the Prius shop, has a Lexus install instruction and does not resemble the engine heater installed in the excellent DIY thread. This had me worried, but looking at prior posts, it seems to be fine... The length is 88-90 inches. The tag says: 10 amp, 125V, 1250W. I include pictures for folks that might be confused as I was.
The picture of the heater core itself is pretty small...got a zoomed in shot of that? But it looks grossly just like what we have installed. What about it looks different to you?
Here are some other shots. I include the Prius Shop one for comparison. The heating element looks the same. I was thrown off by the rest of it and the Lexus instructions...
Well, if I was purchasing something based on the picture in the Prius shop ( the black one that is all coiled up and tied) and what arrived was what he showed in his picture, I'd be concerned too. Not about size but about quality.
That is exactly the one I installed this morning. Fits and works fine. Good luck. Not much fun to install.
The one pictured in prius shop is the older EBH version ... the one you got is the new updated version, i also installed the same one today, ..
Okay, thanks everyone. I will install it, but I agree with Godiva. Usually, what you order online and what you get is what you see. I didn't mention the whole thing was not well packaged and came without an invoice. Not very professional...
Yep. What EvilTree said is correct. I recently replaced my older EBH (the power cord went bad) and the replacement looks just like the one you received. Good luck with the install!
