I just picked up my Prius last Saturday, and I am having trouble with Dial-by-Number (I have a 2008, package 6, with Nav) So, I press the VR button, and say "Dial By Number". It takes me to the dial by number screen where I press the VR button again and say the number. It repeats the number and then says to press the "talk" button to make the call. On the screen, it says the press either the talk or the off-hook button to make the call. Well, the call never gets placed. I've tried pressing the off-hook button, the VR button, and no button, all with the same result...no call is placed. Am I doing something incorrectly? Aleln
Mine is horrible. When I speak clearly and I actually really speak clearly, it inserts all kinds of # signs or extra 0's etc... I have not once gotten it to accept the actual number I am speaking to it. I've tried speaking slower, quicker and still nothing...
I have to agree with the above post. I have to speak in a totally unnatural voice to get it to correctly identify the number I spoke. I drove around my neighborhood for about 25-30mins trying to make this work so that I'd be able to do it 'on command' when needed, but decided that the dial by voice is so unreliable that it totally isn't worth it.
from memory) after you say dial by number and it says please press the off hook button to dial i think you have to wait until the bottom 2 buttons are not greyed out (on the bottom of the display) before actually pressing off hook, and it will work. if you press any buttons on the steering wheel while those display buttons are still greyed out, it will not work you can speed this all up by turning off voice guidance, then the prius will just beep you when prompted
Has anyone figured out an accent or imitation of a well known character (Bugs Bunny???) that is more likely to get this thing to respond properly?
Mine takes a number of tries to get it to respond with the correct number. Then push and hold the off hook button. That seems to work most of the time..... and, Good morning Willie! Frank....
