not so quiet prius

    To-day my local paper here in Brisbane Australia, has an artical about a Prius fitted with simulation of a Lotus car engine sound whilst in silent mode. Some authorities are worried about pedestrians who can't hear the car.Defeats the reason some of us buy the car. I swapped my thirsty diesel for the Pri. Am highly delighted 5ltrs/100kms.

    Why Lotus car engine sound only?
    I want my Prius to sound like a Ferrari instead.....

    Maybe Toyota can equip the next Prius to accept downloadable 'engine' tones, like in cell phones. Then making a Hybrid 'less-quiet' would be acceptable and even Cool!
